Lake Tahoe

Has anyone been? Im trying to book a trip for my husbands 30th birthday and im confused on where to stay..I like modern stuff not like log cabin looking places..any ideas?

I have been...not much advice on lodging, lots of condos there though! I went on one of the evening lake cruises that was nice!
The dining scene was awful, but there was a bar with a tree in the middle that we liked!
