anyone here own a house and rent??? hubby and i are house hunting and he has it in is head that a 2 family is the way to go as an investment. we saw a bunch today in maspeth where we live. on the one hand it def has its financial plusses, and on the other hand i am concerned it could be a headache. so i was wondering if any of you dudes had any experience with this. thanks!!

It's a good investment, but things go wrong with houses.Repairs, bad tenants who don't pay rent on time, people who say they have a steady job, and they don't. And the worst worst case scenario of renting is to couples with children, because if they don't pay rent, you have to go through the eviction process, pay for a lawyer, and storage fees for all their stuff,and in the meantime, have them living in your home for up to 90 days rent free. It could definately be a headache
