If only I was in NY and I could share it! There are only about 10 people in the office tomorrow so it's a special treat for those around. Plus I needed use up the apples in the fridge!

we are crazy. this past fall we had a 'bake off' complete with voting and runoff's, etc. There was even a trophy for the winner of the bake off. It's a miracle I fit into my wedding dress!
this spring though, we are having a 'sauce off' so we'll see how it goes.

Mostly, I make things up as I go along, at least for cooking. Baking I definitely follow recipes, though I've never tried to come up with one on my own. I'm too scared that it'll turn into some kind of exploding volcano/freak show. Box mixes are so easy to do-- they are safe, and taste great and you still made it yourself so the love is there.

True, DH bought these killer brownies, they have the chips in them but they dont melt down so they are like a brownie chip cookie....and I hate chocolate go figure

that's too bad. it's funny..since the honeymoon i have had a horrible taste for rum (probably from all the 'coco loco' drinks I had), and my friend's mom used to make rum squares at Christmas...wish I had a recipe for those! but then if I did, it would severely hinder my weightloss plans.

Yep, we are going to do it over the summer. We both had started new jobs and the money we put towards our HM went towards the wedding, so instead of stressing to do it we went to the city instead. Which wasnt so bad. We had a great time.

we really lucked out with this place. i've been in the bldg for 4 years but on the other side. so when dh and i got this place last year it was just nirvana. still is. we really want to buy a house but i will be SO sorry to lose the view.
i'm on the couch right now with the laptop looking out the deck doors, and i see the airport, the Capitol dome, and the Washington Monument. we are really lucky.
