I heard this was dangerous for your heart, but I think it's probably just a myth. On tv last night, somebody said it and DH suddenly got all worried because he ALWAYS sleeps on his left side. I can't imagine why it would hurt you though. I began to look some stuff up on google, but I can't really find anything confirming or denying it.
Anybody ever hear of this? I'm curious now.

yeah, me neither. Not until last night that is. I really think it's just a stupid thing that old people say. But DH got so worked up about it, I can't help but wonder.

actually it's the opposite. You' ARE supposed to sleep on your left side during pregnancy. It apparently increases the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta and your baby. (the sleeping positions to avoid are on the back & stomach).
But since DH is not pregnant (hopefully) I'm just going to assume that him sleeping on the left doesn't really matter. Hmmm...

This is not an answer to your question but I get irratic heart palpitations and notice I get them more when laying on my left side! I should prob ask my dr about it!

Yes, laying on your left side while your prego may not be a good idea! Because you venous system, which is the blood that returns to your heart to pick up oxygenated blood, lies on the left and you could compress that system which could give you a blood clot. I hope this helps!!
