Do you think you've changed since getting engaged, or married? Better, Worse, The Same Or Different?

I'll start for example....

I think I've changed a bit since getting engaged. I honestly think that I've become a bit 'tougher' with my FH. It's not a good quality, but I think before we were engaged, I was a lot more understanding.....but the wedding planning and moving and all that jazz sometimes has made me be a BIT too tough.

For the better....I am starting to turn the lights off when I leave rooms.....

Definitely changed for the better in the sense that I am more 'calm'. At peace with life.....much more mellow....

Ditto...and fatter!!

I 'let things go' MUCH more often now. I used to feel compelled to defend my position, on just about everything (which would then lead to an argument)

Now, if I see that we're headed in that direction, I'll just blow it off and say 'Yeah, whatever'

I think I changed for the better.

I much more focused now on our future together and what's really important in life. Before I got engaged, all I could think about was getting engaged. When I was engaged all I could think about was the wedding. Now that I'm married, I see a big and bright future ahead!

DH and I couldn't be happier! We say 'I love you' at least a dozen times a day and are so thankful that we found each other. Maybe because we’re a bit older than your average newlywed couple. But we’re so mushy sometimes that people must gag!

IMO, one of the most critical components to ANY relationship is not taking each other for granted. we excel in that area.

I think I have changed for the better! When we first got engaged, I saw the future but really didn't understand what we both wanted as I was so caught up in the wedding planning!!! Now that all that is behind us, I know EXACTLY what we both want & our timeline!

I have surely mellowed out since the wedding!!! I have learned to understand the nights of eating dinner alone bc DH gets a meeting called at last minute. I am so happy though with all the changes & I truly believe it has made me a better person!!!

One other vow we made, we will NEVER go to bed mad & we always seal it with a kiss!!!

I definitely changed for the better since being married. I am much more content with my life now and am more relaxed than I ever was, it's the best feeling!

Dina - well said!!! I feel the same way. And I also have to contribute it sometimes to the fact that we too are older than the average newlywed couple.

I'm also much calmer and more grounded now. I'm not so fogged up with thoughts of getting engaged, and then planning a wedding. I'm actually enjoying setting up our home and planning for our future.

I definitely agree with you on this. We're very mushy and we or should I say I am much older, plus this is both our second marriages, so I think we can truly cherish how lucky we are that we've found eachother even after our first heartaches.
