Hi everyone! I'm Angela and I just got engaged yesterday. I have to admit I've been looking around this website for the past few weeks in anticipation of getting engaged soon (sooner than I expected, I'm happy to say). I'm so excited to finally be engaged and I can't wait to start planning!

In the search I typed in my name under users and I knew I came on here in August of 2007 so I searched for posts in that time frame and looked on the last page.

Hi everyone, I recently got engaged (12/27) and my FH and I decided to not talk wedding until the summer...until i spoke to a couple of friends who got married and checked the message boards... now im freaking out! I need some help with timelines...when did everyone start all the planning(rh, eparty, etc...). I'm going to be a teacher and will hopefully have a job so I'm thinking 8/22 or 8/23/09 for the wedding. any help is greatly appreciated.

LOL my first post was to look for a vendor!!!!!!!!! I lurked a bit before I posted... a friend recommended this site to me but I really found it googling for indoor pictures of my RH.

Hello all you helpful people!

Reading through the boards, I'm starting to feel like I'm a tiny bit behind in this... I've been really easy-going about the whole wedding planning so I haven't been stressing and figured I'd find the perfect solutions for all the details as it gets closer.

Well, I'm within 100 days now and would like to start planning my hair / makeup.

I'm looking for someone who can do both, hopefully at the ceremony/reception location (which is the Milleridge Cottage in Jericho) pretty early in the morning. My wedding starts at 11:30 and I would like to be able to do pictures before the wedding itself. So someone who works quickly is also key.

I don't want anything too fancy - natural looking makeup, and my hair blown out (I want it down). I just picked up my veil the other day so I have that to practice with.

Could some of you helpful vendors send me quotes, please? I have two brides maids, my mom, and a MIL I would be looking for very basic services for as well.

I have never posted before. Just couldn't get into the whole posting thing, but I've been checking out the posts recently and it seems everyone is having fun so I thought I would say hello and introduce myself.

I am getting married 8/8/09 at St. Patricks in Bay Shore and the receptions at Lands End. We've been engaged since June. We have our band, photographer, videographer and florist all set already. We are so excited.

Can anyone help me? I'm waiting for info from my friends but, it seems like they are taking forever. So if anyone can give me info on where to begin and opions on vendors/halls.

That was mine 6/22/07, it was before we were engaged( he had only the setting at the time).

As I looked at the people posting about 3 of them never ended up getting married.

I have decided to go with www.cinematicbydavidm.com for my wedding photos. He is a really nice guy and very talented. Everything I have read about him has been great. He's expensive, but I'm not planning on getting a videographer, so this is well worth it.

Did any of you ladies book a photographer yet? I'm looking for one who does photojournalism along with traditional pictures. I called Duet and they told me that they were already booked for July AND August of 2009! I was shocked! I also was online looking and found cousins photography. Their pictures looked pretty good. Did any of you ever hear of them? Any suggestions you have would be great

We plan to get married in June 09 , were still working on some dates and places....

But i would love to send out an egagement notice, were not having a party though. Is it too early to send out announcements for a wedding that will be in approx 2 years?

Look at my mad social skillz!

I'm afraid that I may need to get a bolero/shrug for the church, and I'm having a lot of trouble finding any. I'm looking for one that has short sleeves, and almost a mandarin collar. The 'ideal' one is similar to the one that the girl on platinum weddings wore, the episode where it was the blond girl having the indian wedding in las vegas. Has anyone come across any like this and would be able to tell me where they found it? Thanks...

Post Title: I'm New

Hi everyone I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Christina and my FI and I are getting married on 10/9/09. The ceremony is in at my childhood church in Queens and the reception is at Jericho Terrace.

I am embarrassed to say I was more of a knottie b/c I didnt really know about LIW prior to getting married & still never really got the whole online blog/post thing until after we got married

My 1st post to LIW was right before we got married for a kissing contest picture & my 2nd was after we got married and all I did was just answer the question - I didnt introduce myself or anything - I didnt really know the proper etiquette for stuff like this as I have never done this type of posting before. I never even had a FB acct until Sept (I know - I really need to get with it!)

Well now that I feel so ashamed of myself Im going to go in the corner & stick my head in the sand for a while

Mine is on the 08 board... It was Nov 24th 2008 and I must have come across someone who posted HM pics and went to the same place I was going to. I just jumped right in.

Those Pics are soooo beautiful! We just booked out honeymoon last week.... Moorea and Bora Bora.... my dream honeymoon. Do you have an recomendations on where to go on the islands?

Then I bombarded The Royalton threads! haha.... and kept posting and posting and posting like a freak!!
