I am embarrassed to say I was more of a knottie b/c I didnt really know about LIW prior to getting married & still never really got the whole online blog/post thing until after we got married

My 1st post to LIW was right before we got married for a kissing contest picture & my 2nd was after we got married and all I did was just answer the question - I didnt introduce myself or anything - I didnt really know the proper etiquette for stuff like this as I have never done this type of posting before. I never even had a FB acct until Sept (I know - I really need to get with it!)

Well now that I feel so ashamed of myself Im going to go in the corner & stick my head in the sand for a while

I didn't do any of that either. I just jumped right in and started writing. Didn't introduce myself and def did not stalk the boards at all. i read and wrote immediately. Dont be embarassed. a lot of people do that.

I think a lot of people just see chatting and jump on in. I never thought I would make friends or talk to the same people daily etc. I just thought it was a place to share wedding ideas!! and find vendors. haha! Silly Me!!!!

I just moved here from the 2010 board... We moved our wedding from 2010 to 2009!!!!!

Im such a dork i never did an official Hello. Back on 2.18.08 was my first post & it was about DJ Help here it is. OH btw ladies hello my name is Vicki & im a newly! lol


Could anyone suggest a really good DJ that could not only supply a lighting ensemble but also has the plasma screens with flash photographer and also someone who puts a quick montage of the ceremony for those who missed it??? OR AT LEAST A GREAT DJ!?? (haha)

I am a new bride to be... Engaged Thanksgiving Weekend in Costa Rica... Great Place... This site is great and I have gotten great ideas.

We just started looking at different places. We are looking to get married in September 2009 with around 80-100 people.

We went to Davenport, Surf Club and Beckwith Pointe. I really liked Beckwith. Does anyone have any experiences that they would like to share with me about them?

We are also going to look at ac couple of places in Long Island next week... Bellport Country Club and Bridgeview Yacht Club. Does anyone have an opinion about them?

i really want to have a beach themed wedding. Also, if anyone has any other places that they would recommend that are on the water and have a low minimum for guests I would appreciate it.

I'm having such a hard time finding a bridesmaids dress that I love. All of my girls are pretty much small, between size 0-8. Some have bigger boobs so I don't want a cleavage party at my wedding. We're going with pink but I'm not sure if I want a sexier dress or a puffier gown. Help!! Any ideas??

I think I just jumped right into the mix with a question about inviting co-workers on 12/7/08:

I teach in two different elementary schools (I'm an orchestra teacher). I report directly to a director of fine arts, who I have a great relationship with. (He's jokingly told me that he has his 'dancing shoes' ready for my wedding!) I'm inviting him, but I probably will not invite either of my principals unless I get a ton of 'no' replies. That's not a hard decision for me. The hard decision comes with co-workers. I'm planning on inviting the general music teachers who I directly work with (they're both 20-somethings), the band teacher who I share classrooms with (even though we have a strained relationship lately--yay stress), another GM teacher from a different building who is in my wedding party (we started within a year of each other), and one of the HS orchestra teachers (whose job I took over six years ago). I know that there are other people in my department who I would like to invite, and I've had a number of debates with the GM teacher who's in my wedding party about this. My FH and I are trying to make cuts to our list in order to accommodate our super large families, but it's nearly impossible. If we had smaller families, then inviting more co-workers would be a non-issue. I'm just afraid of upsetting people in my department, but I think people will understand that weddings cost major $$$ and in this economy plus the fact that my fiance is finishing his masters this year (he's also a music teacher), I can't invite everybody.
What to do?????

this was such a great idea for a post!!! it was so fun to see all the old posts!!

we have a house too and we have been living together for 2 years we met with our priest and we got a lecture, on how it is wrong to live together before marriage... we just sat there and let him talk. it really is stupid. we went and did our foccus survey and we were lectured there too. cant wait to hear what they say at precana!!! just grin and bear it.. they will still marry you. if they didint there would be a lot less people getting married in church.
