Re: Lets share some of our CRAZY In-Law stories

Ok...Dh said I could post about his Dad....haha....so a few years ago FIL comes to visit us....DH ends up having to go away on a business trip the last 2 days he is here....soooooo...good old me gets to entertain his Dad for 2 days straight...at this point we were living together...NOT even engaged...

I decide to take FIL to Montauk...(he's from OOT)...now the lighthouse is a great historic site..right? FIL was having some prostate issues so I was always conscious about bathrooms for him..we pull into the park...he complains about having to pay the $7 or whatever the parking fee was (now he was a DDS and is not lacking in $$$ at all)...so I ask before we make the trek up to the lighthouse if he needs to use the bathroom...he says he does not. We proceed to pay to enter the lighthouse...more grumbling about fees....we are walking around the lighthouse interior in the basement looking at stuff when I don't know where FIL is....so i walk out the door to the outside and there he is PEEING ON THE LIGHTHOUSE!!! He yells...what the hell are you doing out here? I yell...what the hell are YOU doing???? As i am convinced we are going to be arrested or fined for urinating on a historical building!!!!

Day 2 with FIL...he needs some underwear apparently....so i take him to Macy's in town....we are in the underwear section and he starts unbuckling his belt and unzipping his pants....i am thinking...um...what the hell? Until he...turns around...and asks me to LOOK AT THE TAG IN HIS UNDERWEAR to see what size they are! I was dying inside laughing thinking....wait until i tell DH these stories....DH was dying laughing...i told him if these 2 days with FIL didn't EARN me an engagement ring I didn't know what would!!!! haha....i do love FIL...he just is quite a unique personality...and very talkative!!

oh boy you don't want me to get started

besides the horrible things my DH's dad has said about me...including saying i was nothing but a 'fat spIc'

to the fact that i've had to bail out FIL's crackhead girlfriend from jail for posession of a controlled substance

or the time i had to pick up my BIL (hes 13) from the store after he was caught shoplifting

or my other BIL who was arrested for criminal trespassing...guess what? him and his disgusting excuse of a mother have the same court date in april!! ain't that nice?

or the fact that FIL's gf continues to just up and leave whenever she feels like it, leaving her 6 kids behind for weeks at a time while she goes on drug binges.

i can't even get into the numerous drama llama incidents i've been involved in with them---they are absolutely disgusting. sometimes i don't understand how DH could possibly by my FIL's son.

I don't know how you didn't slap DH's Dad in the face

Well fortunately for me my IL's have passed....I never got to meet DH's dad he passed about 6 months before we met but he says I would have liked him and we would have got along real well......his Mom on the other hand was another story I was with DH 10 yrs b4 we got married and we lived with her let's just say in the beginning it wasn't so bad but the more I got to know her the more twisted and crazy she became.....she would take everything I said and spin it into something I never said and would also try to get DH and I to argue. It was hard I tell you.... But at least I don't have to deal with that anymore....she passed in Jan...... On DH's birthday no less they were never really close and he was only staying with her because the last thing his dad said was take care of your mom........It was strange 'cause we started packing our things in Oct because after we came back from the HM we were going to move out. But now we are staying and trying to fix up the place and make it livable for another few years till we can buy a house of our own.

mine just has a really BIG mouth so basically if you want nobody to know something you don't tell her! She just told me something that someone told her in confidence tonight and than told me not to share it.

Re: Lets share some of our CRAZY In-Law stories

DH's mom is a psycho. She became a Born Again Christian after her divorce. DH was raised Catholic. She constantly tries to convince us to go to her church and convert. (no offense to anyone reading this who is a B.A.C., but I was raised Catholic and that is what I will remain). Yesterday at Easter, I walked on Easter because she stared knocking the Catholic religion and going on about how I don't know what problems and sadness are and I've never experienced any. A........ hello- I lost my parents suddenly at 20 years old. Yes, it was 19 years ago, but you never get over it. She showed no sympathy and started saying how she lost her mother when she was 45. So I said I'm sorry to hear about that, we've all had our share of sorrow.

This was not a typical Easter dinner. She serves frozen left overs that were (I offered to bring a ham and make something but she said 'when I invite you-you eat my food). I'm so happy I didn't waste my time and bake a desert, I just bought an Entemanns cake which she replied when I gave it to her 'why did you bring this 'you don't need it'. Of course, DH never hears any of this and never says anything. I told him this is the last time I will be seeing her.

Mine is a delusional beast. She keeps harassing me to put up a registry (um hi wedding's over) and about having a party in the summer.

For those who don't know we had a small wedding, 10 people came to the ceremony then we went out to dinner. That's all we wanted and every day 'Are you having a party in the summer?'

Crazy biatch....we're already married if I wanted a fuucking reception I would've had one!

That's just the recent one that's been bugging me but I have plenty more!

Re: Lets share some of our CRAZY In-Law stories

My in-laws are ok, except that they are both hoarders and we can't set foot into their apartment.
There's no room for MIL to use her walker, which she needs because of her arthritis and the lung cancer. She could use an aide and a visiting nurse to help her, but FIL won't let anyone in the apartment.

There's a washer and dryer sitting in the living room on a dolly, they were supposed to be put into the kitchen 10 years ago.
There is a separate freezer in the kitchen, hello it's only two of them how much frozen food do you need ?
Oh, and the freezer contains the frozen remains of Nevermore, the parakeet who died in 1977.
All together now, EWWWWW

They spent 3 months in the Florida condo that MIL inherited from her SIL. Remember, my ILs are hoarders.
My FIL decided to make organic fertilizer in the sun room. Did I mention that FIL forgets things ?
Forgot about the fertilizer, the container leaked and this crap was all over the floor. STINK is not the word. Had to throw out the couch in there because couldn't get the smell out.
It took me 3 days to sort out all the crap he accumulated in the sun room, throw it away and clean it. Had to bleach the floor.

They drive me crazy, but at 83 and 75 and both not in such great health, not sure how much longer they'll be around.

How convenient! It can be like a family reunion. Now, does the lawyer cut them a deal?

I too could go on all day about the craziness. My MIL does hurtful things to me every few months but I don't think she's fully cognizant of how hurtful she is.

For example, Dh had a child from a previous relationship. MIL has told me how much she couldn't stand his ex, etc. Meanwhile, on Easter we, including my step child, were going to my parents for dinner. Right in front of me, MIL invites the ex to come over for the holiday! I understand the need to maintain a relationship with the kid's mother but I do not think its appropriate in any capacity to be hanging out like family.

Maybe since DH and I got married, when comparing the 2 of us, the ex doesn't seem so bad anymore. Whatever.

Or my other favorite: she got me my swarovski toasting flutes for my shower. I was so excited. I thanked her and said I didn't think I was going to get them. She says 'You weren't going to get them but there was nothing else in the store I could get you that was in stock to bring to the shower today.' Nice right? That's what you get for waiting until the last minute.
