So my wonderful MIL was invited to my sisters bridal shower which was today! As part of her gift to my sister she regifted a candle that we gave her as part of her many X-Mas gifts that the CRAZY bitcch didn't deserve! WHO DOES THAT??? She even brought it in the X-Mas bag we gave her

Oh my!! CLASSY!!!
Brace yourself...it's a long one with a backstory.
Well my story has to do with a mother in law in which I have NO relationship with. DH has not spoken to his mother in probably 6-7 years. He cut her out of his life...she's constantly bitter about the divorce from his dad (which was well over 20 years ago!!!) and always badmouths his dad and stepmom. Let's just say DH is embarrassed by her and wants nothing to do with her. So we didn't invite her to the wedding for fear of her making a scene around FIL and his wife. DH wanted the day to be about us and he did not want either of us worrying about crazy stuff that might happen.
My BIL who has half a brain most of the time (love him dearly, but seriously, he does...and I think he gets this from his wacko mother) was on the phone with his wacko mom. This was around the time we were engaged- and she wasn't supposed to know at all. BIL was good about it...never told her. But she knew we were living together so she asked BIL for my number. He STUPIDLY gave it to her without asking me first! He realized he was wrong, called me to tell me and I told him to immediately call her and tell her NOT to call me since I did not give him permission. Besides, I'm not going to be put in the middle of all this. My loyalty is with DH. BIL called her, told her not to call me and she hangs up on him, all pissed off. Wacko.
Fast forward to...oh about 3 weeks ago. So think about this....she got my number probably around March of 2007....was told not to call me. DH and I are making dinner. My phone rings. I pick it up and the voice on the other line says 'Hi Tara, this is your REAL mother in law.' YES she called and EEEW how rude is that- REAL mother in law?
I was in SHOCK. She was told not to call me and she did- regardless, a year later. She had found out about a month or so ago from someone in the old neighborhood that we were married. She was naturally VERY upset...took it out on BIL, whatever. So she calls me, and says how she was so sad we didn't invite her and that she heard that I wanted to invite her but Brett wouldn't allow me (RIGHT!).
I can't even get a word in edgewise....I signal to DH that it's his mom on the phone and he's as shocked as I am, but he tells me to get off the phone. So she starts yapping away and right away the badmouthing of my FIL and his wife goes on...about how he left her for a younger woman (um NOT TRUE) and that she never remarried (oh poor martyr)....
So as she yaps away, I tell her we were making dinner and I had to go. So then she says 'It took me a year to call but I'm so glad I did. But I promise to not do it again.' Man that was AWKWARD!!!
She has nerve! Yes, part of me feels bad for her...but the fact that she was TOLD not to call me and didn't listen...she is out of line and is not respecting my loyalty to my husband.
Sorry for the long story...it just blew me away.

i have so many.. where to start?!
you all know the one where she came and robbed our tv from our apartment right?! had to take that key away after that.
she called james doctors today making up stuff and getting them all worried for nothing they did a head to toe check on james for no reason just because she said stuff was wrong with him when it wasnt poor guy had to go through that cause his mother is a crazy a$$ b*tch!
when we 1st started dating one night we went out drinking and she told me to stay over then next morning i get up to go to the bathroom and she tells me to get my things and leave i wasnt welcome!
oh oh she has a OBGYN picked out for me when i get PG meanwhile i have a OBGNY already! she wants me to meet with them soon
wait give me a min ill have more lol

you all know the one where she came and robbed our tv from our apartment right?! had to take that key away after that.
she called james doctors today making up stuff and getting them all worried for nothing they did a head to toe check on james for no reason just because she said stuff was wrong with him when it wasnt poor guy had to go through that cause his mother is a crazy a$$ b*tch!

ugh Tara I remember the TV thing! She's awful!! I'm so sorry you have to deal with someone like that...especially with all you're going through now!

I can share a MIL story that's not mine though!
A friend of mine bought a really expensive flat screen TV for her future husband as a wedding gift...she asked her FMIL if she could send the bill to their house so that her FH wouldn't see it (they lived together).
It came in her name (which, mind you- was not the same name of her husband's YET)...she went to pick it up, and it was OPENED!! Her MIL LIED that she accidentally opened it, thinking it was for her!
SUCH a liar...this woman is totally known for crazy crap. She clearly HAD to know how much her FDIL spent.... Disgusting huh?
She's also my sister's MIL...so they are always sharing wacko stories!

My best friends MIL picked out her pictures for her parent album of the wedding and did NOT include one picture of the bride (my BFF) NOT ONE So my BF changed it and added quite a few of just her and of her and her DH

I wish that I had crazy in-law stories, but alas my inlaws are kind of cool. Now DH on the other hand has his hands full with my sister, since she is the closest thing to an in-law. I'll share one recent event. DH & I took her into the hospital for her hip replacement surgery two weeks ago. Her surgery was supposed to take place at 4:00 PM and when 4:00 PM came and went, she started threatening to bill the doctor and hospital for her time. If that wasn't bad enough after they gave her a shot of something, she started to walk around a little and then started showing the nurses her tatoo, which wouldn't be bad if it her tatoo wasn't on her a#$.

My MIL makes me or sometimes, and too ... but I honestly don't have any stories that stack up to the ones you gals have ...
Now, if you were to ask my mom for stories about her inlaws (my grandparents), you'd get an earful!

I came on and caught a great thread! Where to start?
Most recently she called my father and invited him to a fire department dinner that my FIL is going to, saying that my DH and his friend were going and my FIL wanted my father to go as well. Ummm, no! DH said he and I would be going if I were able to move around some more with all of my recent back problems. She looks for excuses to call my Dad.
When DH told her I had to have another back surgery, she started telling him how she has to go to the doctor again. Around the time of our wedding she told us she needed to have a histerectomy (which never happened). Then, since finding out I need surgery, she has told DH she has diabetes, something's wrong with her liver, everyday she throws up, yada yada. Not once does she ask how I am.
Day of the wedding she never congratulated us or told me I looked nice. After the wedding she flipped out on DH because my family was served first, too much food at CH, CH was too long, photog didn't take enough pics of HER, etc. She said she should have planned the whole thing and I should have just showed up. Then, when we told her we were making her a photo album, she said there was no point because she'd prob need to rip pages out and throw them at DH. All she wanted was a pic of her and her boyfriend. No, not of her and her husband for 20 sumad years, but of her and her boyfriend. Found out from a family friend that all her complaining was because no one complimented her dress.
One night in the middle of a crisis she HAD to ask me in the middle of a very important conversation if I cashed a check someone gave us for our wedding. No, not a friend of hers. One of DHs friends who she doesn't like. Nosy biotch. She constantly asks how much we got for the wedding, how much we have in the bank, what we do with our money, etc.
Oh, and one of my favorites for last. I sent out holiday cards. She was POed because I addressed the envelope Jane and Joe Smith instead of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith. Then complained that I wrote my message in it in blue ink and not black. And then asked why we waste our money on stuff like that. Geez, the list goes on and on and on.

oh boy you don't want me to get started
besides the horrible things my DH's dad has said about me...including saying i was nothing but a 'fat spIc'
to the fact that i've had to bail out FIL's crackhead girlfriend from jail for posession of a controlled substance
or the time i had to pick up my BIL (hes 13) from the store after he was caught shoplifting
or my other BIL who was arrested for criminal trespassing...guess what? him and his disgusting excuse of a mother have the same court date in april!! ain't that nice?
or the fact that FIL's gf continues to just up and leave whenever she feels like it, leaving her 6 kids behind for weeks at a time while she goes on drug binges.
i can't even get into the numerous drama llama incidents i've been involved in with them---they are absolutely disgusting. sometimes i don't understand how DH could possibly by my FIL's son.
