Letter I got from a parent today...Made me laugh histerical...U HAVE TO READ
Dear Mrs Fazz,
It was brought to our attention last night that during the day you were speaking rather inapropriately to the children about something.
When they came home they told me that you told them that someone had been 'Squishing and flattening out crap' and that the teachers 'Shouldnot have to clean up all of the smushed crap that is left, since crap makes a mess'
So, With that being said, I thought that I would just tell you that the matter has been sent to the principal as well. I do not feel using the word 'Crap' is appropriate for 4th graders, and I'm sorry but I never pegged you as one to slip to easily and repeatidly.
Again, I also do not feel that children should be around 'feces' if it is on the floor, and if it is, I do feel it is up to the teachers to find out the source of where it is coming from. Children should not have to worry about someone elses defication on the floor.
Sincerely,
Mrs blah
****So I started to laugh and wrote the following back:
Dear MRs. Blah,
Unfortunately, there was no 'poop' on the floor that we were talking about. The other day after school, before the prep class, the children were found 'Smushing CRACKERS' into the floor. An entire bag of gold fish crackers and ritz cheese it crackers were found spread out, and made tons of crumbs. The teachers were rather upset because in the after school they do not have a broom or shovel and the janitor was not here yet so the mess had to be left.
I am sure that you know that there would be no place for 'feces' to be 'smushed' onto the floor. They are 9 years old, and I am pretty sure someone would have seen someone, or smelled, someone playing with poop.
Perhaps the children heard me say 'Crackers' and heard the word 'Cr*p'? That word is not part of my vocabulary and I would not continue to say it if I ever did slip. The principal WAS upstairs when I was telling the students about 'Smushing the crackers' because she was the one who told me about them. I am pretty sure that if she heard me say 'Cr*p' she would have corrected me.
THe reason it was brought up was because there was a live friend- a mouse- who showed up shortly after the children left, and we believe it was because of the smushed crackers that were all over the floor. I am sure you as a parent know the amount of crumbs one cracker can make.
Again, Crackers was repeated, to both classes. Not the 'poop' word.
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Mrs Fazz
