Letter I got from a parent today...Made me laugh histerical...U HAVE TO READ

Original post by PoppedInASnap

Dear Mrs Fazz,

It was brought to our attention last night that during the day you were speaking rather inapropriately to the children about something.
When they came home they told me that you told them that someone had been 'Squishing and flattening out crap' and that the teachers 'Shouldnot have to clean up all of the smushed crap that is left, since crap makes a mess'
So, With that being said, I thought that I would just tell you that the matter has been sent to the principal as well. I do not feel using the word 'Crap' is appropriate for 4th graders, and I'm sorry but I never pegged you as one to slip to easily and repeatidly.
Again, I also do not feel that children should be around 'feces' if it is on the floor, and if it is, I do feel it is up to the teachers to find out the source of where it is coming from. Children should not have to worry about someone elses defication on the floor.

Sincerely,
Mrs blah

****So I started to laugh and wrote the following back:

Dear MRs. Blah,
Unfortunately, there was no 'poop' on the floor that we were talking about. The other day after school, before the prep class, the children were found 'Smushing CRACKERS' into the floor. An entire bag of gold fish crackers and ritz cheese it crackers were found spread out, and made tons of crumbs. The teachers were rather upset because in the after school they do not have a broom or shovel and the janitor was not here yet so the mess had to be left.
I am sure that you know that there would be no place for 'feces' to be 'smushed' onto the floor. They are 9 years old, and I am pretty sure someone would have seen someone, or smelled, someone playing with poop.
Perhaps the children heard me say 'Crackers' and heard the word 'Cr*p'? That word is not part of my vocabulary and I would not continue to say it if I ever did slip. The principal WAS upstairs when I was telling the students about 'Smushing the crackers' because she was the one who told me about them. I am pretty sure that if she heard me say 'Cr*p' she would have corrected me.
THe reason it was brought up was because there was a live friend- a mouse- who showed up shortly after the children left, and we believe it was because of the smushed crackers that were all over the floor. I am sure you as a parent know the amount of crumbs one cracker can make.
Again, Crackers was repeated, to both classes. Not the 'poop' word.
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Mrs Fazz

**principal was with me when i was giving my 'Cracker' speech haha

I would think she would call and ask for clarification before writing such a long, detailed letter to you. Has she never had a misunderstanding before based on a kid's take on something?

When I student taught in a kindergarten class, the teacher told all the parents at the open house night that as long as they didn't believe half of what their kids said happened at school, she wouldn't believe half of what they said about home! I guess that's what you learn after years of this stuff.

She is an odd ball... she sent a letter after report cards about how her childs average should have been a B+ not a B...

So we sent home every test from the second marking period, and explained that he actually shoul dhave gotten a C, but because hes such a hard worker, we dropped his lowest grade (a 54%) and didnt add in his HW grade (Missing 6 hws- 76&)

And so she writes back 'Then the children should just not do hw or do in in class if your not going to count HW'

And we were SOOO confused because, if we would have added them in it would have LOWERED his grade

This is what happens when you stay at home, and have so much money that you can afford ipod shuffles for your kids 9th birthday party favor...

I was looking for the 'like' button for this as if I was on fb...haha. It just goes to show that you can't win! You can't please everyone, and some people, you cannot please no matter what you do. I am a teacher also and have dealt with similar situations to the above conversation.
