yes! that is how i am too....for the most part i know all of my Mom's recipes and when i cook - i cooked a lot when i lived at home and saw how she everything and when she would work nights i'd help by finishing things for my dad and sister....but my MIL is an amazing cook - and i don't know how to make any of her dishes! she makes different things than my mom - my mom made a lot of american foods where my MIL is more of an italian cook - and she makes a lot of things from scratch - especially breads! omg she makes the best foccacia bread!

I grew up doing the same thing for my mom, or I would have to make dinner on my own b/c she was working her 2nd job and I was the only one home to start dinner.

Ever since I moved out of her house, I suck at making the same dishes she did lol I tell her all the time 'you can't ever die'. I have to retrain myself to make the same things until I get it right again. :(

1. Have a happy and healthy marriage, continue to love and support DH unconditionally

2. Have children and build a close knit family with my husband, like our parents did for us

3. Continue to prosper in my career

4. Own a beautiful home

5. Always continue to learn

6. Never forget to count my blessings

1. I really want to get one of my books published. I write novels when i feel inspired (and have the time to do so) and I'd love to get one of them out there. Not necessarily to make money out of (tho that would be nice) but to just say I've actually done it. I'm working on getting one of my books copywrited as we speak

2. Have children and raise them right. I've worked with pretty messed up children who come from broken & sad family backgrounds and it's so wrong how they turn out (it's like a bad cycle that just keeps going). My goal is to really do a good job as a wife & mother (like my parents)

3. Visit either Rome, Greece, or Italy. I've always wanted to go somewhere amazing and leave the country at least once. I always assumed for my honeymoon, but we just couldn't afford it

4. Live within a 30 mile radius of my entire immediate family. I HATE being so far from them - we need one another for support

And the last one I'll leave for me to think about. lol. Something might come up later that I so desperately want

Oh wow, that is amazing, what kind of book is it?

I have pretty straight forward goals.
1. Go into critical care and then become a nursing eduator.
2. Raise a wonderful family
3. Buy a home.
4. Travel possibly a cruise to bermuda or something.
5. Get healthy and fit.

My mother taught me how to cook actually. I would love to go to school for pastry work though.

I love learning new things about different culturals and how the mind works. So your interest in the death row inmates is pretty interesting to me. I would love to travel around and learn different cultures and why people live life the way they do.

You definitely should! Even if you just go to a few classes at Viking in Garden City. I know a lot of high schools have programs too maybe you could try them out to see if you like it.

Just so you know there is a pastry/sugar food network challenge on now. I'm watching it and I thought of you.

I write all fiction. I really really enjoy writing, but lately I just haven't been inspired to do so

I've been wanting to get this one book out there ever since I finished writing it about a year or two ago. But things kept getting in the way. I am finally now SET on at least copywriting it - that's the first step. Then we'll see from there

1. be a better wife ( i think theres always room for improvement)
2. be the mother that my mother was to my brother and i.. i admire her!!! and just really want to raise good kids
3. travel after im retired
4. get my sono tech certificate and do my dream job
5. open my own resturant. a small family place. cooking makes me happy!!!

I agree!!! Esp after I got mad for no reason at DH tonight

2. Travel to Italy (and take cooking lessons there!!!)England, Israel (DH wants to go there), Tahiti, Costa Rica and Hawaii again and again

3. Own a home on the water in Florida and a boat complete with a bathroom and a mini-kitchen

4. For me and DH to be healthy...not sure if that's exactly a goal but I try-eat healthy food and drink lots of water and exercise as much as I can. DH has a herniated disc in his back and neck and family history of heart disease; I have a history of kidney problems (long story) and high blood pressure among other problems

5. Keep trying to make a difference (a positive one, not the kind that causes therapists to get rich lol) in my students' lives every day. Keep guiding them towards making better choices and giving them the tools they need to live a successful life, not just an education (although that is very important!).

I have nothing against therapists by the way...having been to one myself....just don't want to be a reason someone goes to see one

Get married to my soul mate( check )
Have children and be the best mama ever! ( almost there )
Take my Dh and kids traveling with me to our dream desitinations
Get my degree and have a career when my kids are in school.
Spend as much time with my family as possible and have no regrets!

That is awesome! I love to read, and I do love fiction. :) Ever since I was little I always wanted to write a book about my life. My father was a drug dealer, and cheated on my mom while she was raising 3 children. I saw him hit her once and that was the end of that. I just think that america should understand how strong single mothers can be, and what my mother had to endure to help us from not going homeless and trying to keep food on the table each night. I didn't make that one of my goals, but I have started to write it just to get it down on paper ya know?

I think that is amazing, and I hope your inspiration comes back to you, b/c that is great ;)

wow, you really do have quite a story to share. It's good to just write when you can - to at least get your thoughts on paper and then later when you're feeling particularly inspired, you can put it all together. You're so right - single motherS ARE some of the strongest people out there. I can't even imagine!

- Need to gain experience by getting certified as
a wedding planner and start out planning weddings for
couples.
- Enroll in a culinary school for pastry arts degree. Always want to do cake decorating and all that fun stuff!
5. Own a home in Hawaii and hopefully, move there one day!
