life goals/dreams....

I was thinking about what I want out of my life yesterday, and I was curious what some of you girls have to say.
List 5 important goals you want to accomplish by the time you leave this earth.

Goals:
1) move to California
2) Finally pick what I want to do with my life, pastry or psychology.
3) To lose weight and be healthy and fit.
4) go to Ireland
5) take my mom to london and paris and show her how amazing it is.

1. travel to: Italy (this is a MUST and will happen some day!!) and i'd like to see as much of the caribbean as i can before having kids.... aruba, jamaica and grand caymen down! going to st martin in april so i'm on a roll with this goal lol

2. i always say that i want to write a research article for the social work profession and have it published.... i LOVE learning new things and researching different aspects in life... i once said that was going to do my research paper on whether or not the death penalty actually deters criminals from committing crimes....i was going to travel to all the different prisons and interview those on death row

3. have children... only like 2 or 3 though

4. learn how to be one of those people that can just throw ingredients together and come up with this really yummy meal

5. be a SAHM

1. go to Italy
2. always be and incredible wife to dh.
3.. stay healthy and fit.
4. become a wedding planner.
5. live life to its fullest and be happy.

I have been cooking all of my life and I STILL have yet to be able to do that lol I hate that.

have you ever taken cooking lessons? or do you just teach yourself? DH really wants to send me to cooking lessons which i wouldnt be against! i need as much help as i can get!! lol

haha thanks - i have a really crazy interest in the criminal mind... i used to be pen pals with people on death row

My mother taught me how to cook actually. I would love to go to school for pastry work though.

I love learning new things about different culturals and how the mind works. So your interest in the death row inmates is pretty interesting to me. I would love to travel around and learn different cultures and why people live life the way they do.

ME TOO!

i used to spend 2 weeks in the Appalachian Mountains in west virgina tutoring kids who lived in poverty.... it was such an eye opening experience b/c you dont even think that there is that kind of poverty in the US... but let me tell you, some of those kids lived in SHACKS that didnt have doors OR windows.... it was really sad

some of the other kids couldnt participate in the program some days b/c they didnt have clean clothes to wear

i did it 2 summers in a row... it was amazing!!

yea, that is awesome. Its so sad that we are helping so many people and they aren't even living in our own country. That is a great thing you did. =D

That is a GREAT goal, It's so great to see someone who actually, really does care about their students. :)

Since 9-11 it was important for me to start doing some of the things I had on my 'someday' list..It was my wakeup call that life is short & you never know when your time is up. I worked right by the WTC...here's what i've done off my list so far...

1.) Learn a martial art

2.) Go skydiving

3.) Learn how to ride a motorcycle

4.) Travel to other countries...been to Australia, Aruba, Korea & Israel (DH lived there for a few years for work & when i met him, so i wanted to see what he always told me about)...want to go to alot more.

5.) Get married (sounds lame but i sat there in my office on 9-11 thinking I don't want to die before I get to walk down the aisle...Dh was on a plane to LA that day so it crossed my mind that i may never see him again either)

this are my goals for the next few years, what is nice is that DH shares most of them with me:

1. own a home
2. visit Italy to meet DH's family and see where his Mom grew up (and of course sightsee while we are there)
3. learn to cook our favorite dishes that my MIL makes before we move and learn all of her secret recipes (it sounds kind of silly but i think it would be nice if someone could continue to learn her recipes and continue to pass them down through the generations - plus we'll miss her food when we move so i have to learn!)
4. live a more healthy lifestyle - diet, exercise, really take care of myself
5. start a family

1. Be the best wife and mother I can be

2. Have 2-3 healthy, happy and well raised children

3. Become a great teacher, and not just one that teaches great things, but a teacher who not only has a positive impact on my students' lives but who can learn from my students and allow them to have an impact on me.

4. Travel to Australia, Greece, Italy, South Africa and Egypt

5. Tell my parents and sisters/brothers what they really mean to me and tell them all thank you for what they ahve done for me in my life and thank them for making me the person who I am today.

1 - Become a photographer
2 - Run a full marathon (this is a goal of mine for this year)
3 - Travel extensively (my list is way too long to write out right now)
4 - Become a mom and be a GOOD mom
5 - Live in Southern California
6 - Always work out and eat good and stay fit
7 - Be a good wife, cook and clean more

yes! that is how i am too....for the most part i know all of my Mom's recipes and when i cook - i cooked a lot when i lived at home and saw how she everything and when she would work nights i'd help by finishing things for my dad and sister....but my MIL is an amazing cook - and i don't know how to make any of her dishes! she makes different things than my mom - my mom made a lot of american foods where my MIL is more of an italian cook - and she makes a lot of things from scratch - especially breads! omg she makes the best foccacia bread!

1. Own a home in New Hampshire.

2. Write a book.

3. Have children.

4. Own a bookstore / stationary store.

5. Go on a warm vacation!!!! DH hates the heat.
