Since we've been married and all our friends are now married...going out to our regular bars and clubs just is not the same. Not to mention that most of our friends are all over LI and do not want to leave their 5 mi 'comfort zone' around their house. Thus we wind up at the same old places.
So...my question is...What is your favorite hangout/bar/club to go with your husband and/or other couples? What do you like most about it? We are looking for new cool places- preferably with great music and a bit of an 'older crowd'. (By 'older' I mean early 30's.)
Our old Standby is Mulcahy's in Wantagh. We met there
. We like that they have live music AND a DJ. But even that place is getting dull. Thanks! Jen

Re: Long Island Nightlife (and being married)
DH and I hardly ever go out to bars. Last Saturday we were at a family party and all his cousins decided to go to Bamboo Bernies in Smithtown so we went with them, I think we left by 1:00. I felt so old

Re: Long Island Nightlife (and being married)
Great Question. Since, I am going to be a LI resident in a matter of a couple weeks - I will be needing some ideas on where to go for drinks.
Although be DH and I moving to LI we are really separating ourselves from most of our friends. (all of our friends have recently bought in NJ, CT or Westchester) - so we probably won't have many friends on the island to go out with! Although as everyone is moving away - spending times for dinner and drinks and a night out are becoming far and few between. Dh and I are usually the organziers but who knows if we can drag our friends butts out to see us! But at least I am still working in NYC and so are most of our friends - I do most of my drinking/socializing there during happy hour times - so I guess that will continue. And I am making lots of LIW weddings friends! Hopefully our DH's will meet someday and hit it off as well as we do!

Re: Long Island Nightlife (and being married)
I'm feel so old. I used to be out and about at all the bars in NYC before I was married. Now a bit night for Jay and I is sitting at home watching 24 and ordering in!!! Sounds lame but I love it!
Stef - I agree, we much more prefer to have dinner/drinks with another couple. Just so not into the bar scene anymore!

My husband was never really a bar person. We used to go out a little before we were married but now its just going to dinner and a movie.
Kathi (from LIW) and I became good friends and our husbands hit it off right away so we to go out to dinner with them. Its fun to go out with another couple.

Re: Long Island Nightlife (and being married)
We really never go out to bars or clubs unless its with friends in the summer when we all stay at our parents houses in the hamptons. Then we go for a few drinks but when you see the age of the peole in these places WHOA!
All of our married friends have or are having kids so theres not much going out anymore. It's all inside entertaining now!
