hey girls.. wondering if someone can please shed some light re the state marriage license..
we got married a year ago and we only received the church marriage certificate.. i was expecting to get another one from the town of hempstead but i never got one.. did anyone have this issue? i'm planning to call the town hall tomorrow but i just wanted to see if anyone had the same experience here.. i can't believe i waited so long to do this but i'm ready to change my name, finally :), and i think i need the state marriage license..

You can call or go in and get a copy. You should have received one from them within a week or so after the wedding. If you didnt maybe the church never sent it

thanks for the advise.. i actually called the town of hempstead and they said they sent it 2 weeks after wedding.. we misplaced it i'm sure.. so now i just have to send a $10 to get an original cert. with a seal.. :) when i get this i have no more excuses to change my name yikes :)

We got a marriage certificate from the church-with our names, etc. on it-its printed out really nice. I think its more of a keepsake then anything else
