may be a stupid question..but...

can a pill go down 'The wrong pipe' when you swallow it.
ever since my swallowing troubles started i have a hard time getting my pills down. I just took a xanax and it got stuck to the back of my throat when i swallowed (i think its just cause my throat is still so swollen and dry) .. but now it feels like it's still sitting there...almost like it went down the wrong pipe.
i'm drinking water cause it's about the only thing i can barley get down... (i tried tea to ease my throat but that wasn't helping)
any suggestions on what to do if it's irritating my throat?? i just need to get through tonight til the doctor opens at 9 in the am!!

I'd say just drinking water is all you could really do.. that's a scary feeling, I hope it passes and you feel better!

Aww Krystal, I'm sorry. I'd hoped you be feeling better. It sounds like your throat is just swollen and that's why it feels like it's still water.
I'd go with water.

I do hope you get some relief.

when i saw the ENT he said everything feels like it's irritating my throat probably cause it's very swollen.. and since i have so much trouble swallowing right now i think i tense up when i have to swallow a pill or something else that's too solid. It feels a little bit better now...although i feel a little short of breath..but that's probably from the allergies they think i'm developing and/or stress and anxiety from the whole situation.
I'm just trying to relax til the feeling passes.

thnx hun. The doctor is in finally tom. morning (he was closed friday when he usually isnt) so i'm hoping to get something from him that well help to ease my throat at least. I can deal with drinking milkshakes and protien shakes for a few more days since ive been getting them down...but the feeling in my throat is just awful!!!
My spirits are up a bit though... just trying to take it one day at a time for now
