Sorry if this is a personal qu, but has anyone had to have a uroflow study or cystometrogram (CMG). I think those are the ones. I have had UTIs in the past and just wanted to make sure everything is fine so I went and the doc wants to run tests to just make sure everything is good and see maybe why I tend to get them. Im really nervous and DREADING the tests, especially after reading descriptions of what they entail!! Can anyone say anything about their experience w/ these??
FM if youd prefer.
Thanks.

Re: Medical question- urology
I don't think thats what I had- but I also have had a lot of UTIs so they sent me for sonograms and I to do one with a full bladder and one with an empty bladder to check for stones and lumps, etc.

OMG I used to get UTI's round the clock. I never got any further testing...it was just suggested that 'certain glands' arent working properly. Definitely TMI, I may have to fm you. But I am so overly concious about it now and I dont really get them anymore. I have to be very very careful, take cranberry pills, drink tons of water, clean and pee before and after, etc, etc. The minute I dont do one of these steps, UTI in full force! ANNOYING I FEEL YOUR PAIN!

Re: Medical question- urology
I started to get alot of UTI's and pain in my lower back, so I went in and they wound up doing internal ultra sounds and regular ultra sounds and found that I had cysts on my ovaries and kidneys. I don't know if there is a connection to it, but that was the only thing they sent me for.
I take cranberry pills all the time and make sure I go to the bathroom immediately after 'it' and I try to go to the bathroom as soon as I can all the time.

Yes drink a lot of water and flush yourself out a lot, that works best. I find when I drink and am dehydrated I am more suseptible(sp) so sometimes I won't even do it on those drunken nights! I know that is mean but the pain is just not worth it. Anyway good luck with the test and thx for stopping in!!!!!!!

it doesn't make you nauseous, Caroline? thats what i was prescribed and have been using but i really dont want to do that longterm. cant really be good to be on an antibiotic for a long pd of time, can it? and also if youre on the pill, some docs say it can affect that too. im gonna try not taking it i think bc it making me nauseous makes me want to just avoid everything all together and thats no good, lol.
