Medium format vs. 35 mm film - which is better for enlargements?

For those of you who have done their albums, did your photographer recommend whether pictures taken with medium format film (proof pictures print out 4x5 or square) or regular 35 mm film (proof pictures are 4X6) are better for enlargement pictures like a 16X20?

Can be done with both but medium format is much better..its meant for just that purpose.

The speed of film they used matters too but definitely medium format.
