Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus...Really
Exchange of 5 minutes ago proving this theory while I was putting away groceries and noticed that our open can of coffee's lid didn't close. I opened it and found my good measuring spoon (OXO brand) inside. I then went to the drawer and noticed lo and behold, the set was taken apart and only 2 were in there.
Me: 'Honey why did you put my good measuring spoon in the coffee can?'
HiM: 'To measure the coffee'.
Me: (Genius)'I see that babe but why did you use my good set? These are the expensive ones from our registry (meaning nice sturdy handles, good stainelss steel etc.) and its bent now from being shoved into the can because there is still too much coffee in there.'
Him: (Yea?' (Cue the vacant look you often see on deer on the other end of a shotgun.)
Me: (Dripping patience...really....) 'Yes... It's bent from being stuffed in there.'
Him: (shrugging-I can see him through our kitchen cutout) 'Who cares? Just use one of the other sets we have in there.'
Me: 'We don't have another set of these Peter.' (dropping full names now)
Him:(Getting up to come to the kitchen and investigate the outlandish claim that his practical male brain did anythign wrong.) 'We have a whole other set in there.'
Me: 'Where?' (Opening the drawer) 'I don't see one.'
Him: (Looking over my shoulder and then looking at me blankly, shocked that no indeed we have no other mystery set.)
Me: 'I told you. Please don't use my spoon'
HiM: 'I know there's one in here.' (rummaging in drawers and finding finally, the set of cheapy heart shaped spoons that were part of the prizes that my MIL bought for my bridal shower games. 'You can use these. Why does it matter? Just a spoon. I've been using it for awhile.'
Me: (Thanks for pointing out I am not Betty Crocker)'You can use those. Please leave the other spoons alone.' (Putting OXO spoon in sink.)
Him: (Examining his new acquisition) 'This one's cheap....'
(Anyone else hear the angels singing? Sounds alot like that VENUS razor commercial)
Him: (Looking at my good spoon as if he is contemplating sticking it back in while I am not looking. HAH fat chance cause I know that trick-I use it periodically. It was invented by Venus and is especially helpful when sneaking new shoes into the house) 'I guess I can use anything.'
Me: 'Thank you honey.'
