I like it. It is much better than that red and black dress she wore on election night - that thing was horrible and NOT flattering for her at all. I can't wait to see the gowns she wears to the events tonight!

it looks like it doesnt fit well- she looks like a grandma in this picture- maybe because my grandma has a similar outfit. With the exception of this and the election night outfit, she usually looks great

She dresses like an old lady going to church. I am sure some of these gowns and dresses are designers, but they are some ugly outfits lol

I'm not crazy about the outfit either. Yellow isn't flattering on anyone. The cut of the dress doesn't do much for her figure either, but I think given the nature of the weather outside, this probably works best for it. Hopefully she'll wear something more stylish to the Inaugural Ball.

Re: Michelle Obama's Outfit
Well, typically for the inauguration, I think the first lady tends to be dressed much more conservatively... and with color. It's a little hard to tell in this picture. I guess maybe they could've found something a little more flattering. I'm sure she'll be in something really beautiful for the ball!

I liked the color and the design, it was perfect for the occasion. I HATED the shoes. The different tone of gloves was fitting, but I thought the shoes should have matched the gloves or the tie in the first of the jacket.

I don't know, I kinda liked it. She seem to wear it well. Its not something I would wear personally, but I really do like the fabric. Also I t hink the color is nice on her.
But regardless what you think about the dress, the Obama girls are too cute! And so well behaved though that very long ceremony. That has to be hard for two girls in their age ranges, to sit still for something that long, that they don't fully understand yet.

Ohh, you know I didn't even notice on TV. I missed the beggining, so I only saw her in the audience.

ITA, I think if she would've had that dark green in the outfit as well, it would've worked much better. I just think the different greens would've went if they combined somewhere else besides the gloves and shoes.

She's a bit frumpy here. Too much of the same pattern/color makes her look olllllddd.

Maybe she wore the dress to promote the idea of recycling. Its recycled 1939 couch upholstery.

Re: Michelle Obama's Outfit
Maybe if she wore the jacket with a different dress? I'm no fashionista but I expected a little more from her as well. I don't hate this outfit but I don't love it either.
