missing pics

so I love love love our 1400+ proofs. generally speaking, I really adore and am totally beyond satisfied with the shots we got....out of the 1400+ there aren't many duds.

the problem thats got me a bit down is that there are several details that were not captured at all. I know we had a bit to do with this under extenuating cirucmstances. Our gameplan was to do ALL of the family/bridal party/must take shots between the ceremony and the start of the CH so that we could enjoy CH with everyone. Well, the plan changed because DH's father, who was sick at the time and has since passed, wasn't feeling well and had to rest at the hotel between the church and CH. So once he arrived we spent the better part of our CH taking family shots on DH's side. I am so thankful and greatful to have these pictures of DH's complete family before the tragedy of losing his dad.

What I'm a little frustrated about is that we have no pictures of our CH setup (literally none)...we had mini arrangements on the tables and I had etsy custom luminaries on the tables as well that we not captured and there is not ONE pic of a passed tray or a food station. I mean literally its like our CH never happened. I'm disappointed with this because I didn't get to enjoy any of those details on our wedding day and I would have loved to see them in pics.

We had a main photog, an assistant photog and and assistant lighting guy. Couldn't the assistant photog have snuch out just to get a few while the main photog was getting family pics?

I'm super sorry for the long rant...its just been on my mind. done.

Have you tried contacting your photographer? Maybe they missed some/didn't give you all your pics?

I'm so sorry that you don't have all your pictures. Was the videographer in the CH? Maybe you can get some pictures from him of that.

DEFINITELY ask your photographer! The worst thing they can tell you is that they don't have to pictures, and you're already coping with that, so it can't hurt to ask!

I didn't have ANY picture of DH at the alter or me walking down the aisle from the front or any of the bridal party coming down the aisle, so I was like, where were the photogs when this was happening?! And sure enough, after I called, they had another 50 or so pics for me.

i definitely understand your frustration ... i had a similar problem (except i had 3 total photographers and like 2-3 pics of CH) ... it really sucks that you don't have any pics though ...

maybe your guests took pics?

I know what you are saying. I was so nervous for my proofs and when I finally got them i LOVED THEM.

HOWEVER there is a lingering sadness- especially when I see other bride's great shots, that so much was missed.

We had the same problem - we were running late on our schedule between the ceremony and reception and family pictures mostly happened during coctail hour - and by then we were tired, thirsty, hungry etc so it was getting ugly - so we dont have so many combinations/permutations of family/parents, siblings, etc which makes me sad!

I was at your coctail hour. I can tell you all about it - i saw the luminaries they were super cute and i had 2 amazing bowls of penne a la vodka.

At least you feel happy about the 1400 you have but i totally understand what youre saying.

I didnt have any pics of cocktail hour either.. I guess its not something they take pics of maybe?

i didnt either... my video guy got good shots of the CH... im happy that my photog didnt waste any pics on food tho...

i was going to say the same thing.

Obviously you would rather photos of people than food in the long run anyway.

We had a lot of personalized things during the CH and I wish I could have seen how they all looked. I wish we had a pic of our signature cocktail signs, luminaries, guests at the cocktail tables with our flower arrangements, the piano player, etc.

We had some fun stations so a pic or two would have been cool just to capture the hour but other than that, I'm certainly not missing pictures of FOOD....I just wish I had a few pictures of all of our custom items.

we don't have many of CH either. the photog and assistant were busy getting all these amazing staircase shots of DH and i, which i llove so for me the trade off was worth it.

you look at the proofs alot now, but in a few months, you probably wont. all that matters is that you have amazing shots for your album.

I am missing some photos too(like my rings). BUT I got a ton of other photos that I LOVE - it's hard to get every photo you want the days goes by so quickly.
