Luckily, every morning before work I text message for about 45 minutes with my best friend in the universe/MOH. It always makes it so much easier to get through the morning!
Which leads me to my NWQOTD for today ...
Who was your MOH? How did you meet? Why did you pick her? What does this person mean to you?
My MOH was my best friend Melissa. I met her on the very first day of high school (two school districts combined in my high school so I had never met her before). I had almost the exact same schedule as her, so I saw her in first, second and third period and knew I wanted to be her friend. I approached her during gym (third period) and told her I liked her pants, and the rest is history! We have been inseparable ever since!
I love Melissa because she is so funny and smart. She always has the exact right thing to say and makes me laugh so much and so often. But she's also incredibly loyal and loving. We've never really had a fight - just a few misunderstandings over the past 13 years - and we just understand each other and accept each other. She is the best friend I have ever had and there was never any question that she would be my MOH - and she did such an incredible job, between tiny little details for my shower and bachelorette party, to the most hilarious and touching MOH toast I have ever heard (she used excerpts of AIM conversations that we had from when I met DH and realized I was going to marry him - a month and a half into our relationship). She's the best and I love her!!!

My sister was my MOH. I picked her because she is my only sister and always knew that she would be my MOH. And she's awesome!

actually, this question highlights one of the single most difficult parts of the wedding for me... BUT the quick answer is... my moh is my friend who i met through DHs best friend (she's his wife now)... she's a very sweet, funny girl who i'm not all that SUPER close with but close enough were i thought that it might be a fun time to include her as the moh. she was absolutely awesome as a moh/friend because she was always there for me and made everything perfect. it wasn't like your typical BFF thing but instead a very laid-back, fun experience where it suited our personalities and the whole wedding.
i used to have a very best friend that i had known since 4th grade but ... upon going to college, she unfortunately got wrapped up in drugs and drinking and became addicted to all sorts of things, and one day vanished from my life. i've never seen her since though i think about her and pray for her safety all the time. i heard a few years ago that she is alive and living out west somewhere (shrugs) and then, my only other best friend from high school ... when my HS BF and i broke up (he assaulted me after prom)..she decided she'd take his side and when we broke up, she picked him. so that's why i didn't have a BFF as my moh. it's just one of those things that hasn't quite worked out the way i would have expected i guess... :o)
and it wasn't until we were planning the wedding that this reality hit me and it def made me very sad for a long time UNTIL i realized that my moh didn't have to be typical...and in the end, we had an amazing time and grew closer because of it.
and yes, mondays $uck! :o)

I had two MOH's. My younger sister and my best friend. How I met my sis is obvious So I'll just tell you how I met my best friend. We were in the same 3 year old pre-school class together and always played at school with each other. Then one day I was out in front of my house with my mom and I saw her ride by across the street on her bike with her mom. Our moms said hello and started talking and it turned out thye lived down the block (about 10 houses) and across the street. From then on we were inseperable. In 5th grade she moved from Queens to LI. I was at her house every weekend for sleep overs and we were miserable during the week when we were apart. After about a year and half of this my parents decided to move out to LI so we could be in school together again. They rented a house temporarily so I could start school at the beginning of the year. They looked ofr a house for about 3 years and then a house 2 houses away from my best friend went on the market. They bought it right away! (I should add that our parents are also best friends) She knows me better than anyone and vice versa. We usually know what the other is thinking before we even speak. So that's why I picked her!

MY Matron of Honor was my best friend. We have been friends for 4 years. We worked together in Pre-K together and her husband and my DH and us have gotten along SOOO well together. We are soo close that people think we are swingers
but as to why i picked her? well i actually had picked another best friend of 20 years to be my MOH but when she couldn't resume the duties i asked my best friend Nancy, to be my matron of honor. She had just gotten married two months before, so it was very exciting for us both!

MY MOH was originally my sister but she hates giving out speeches of any kind. I didn't want to put her through all the MOH duties since she was about to graduate from college. I ended up asking one of my closest friend, Diana who knew me since 2nd grade so we're practically like sisters. Her family and I are very close. I love her mom to death. We're all like family. And the past 20+ years that I've known her, we had some incredible and amazing adventures and times together! This is someone that I can always have a shoulder to lean on and cry to, vent about stupid things over a cup of coffee, watch our novelas and laugh, and curse like sailors when ppl piss us off. She went through a lot during my wedding planning- putting together my bridal shower and favors, last minute rehearsal, and all the little touches and details. One thing that I'll always about her is she's got the biggest heart. She's someone that believes in the greater good and the best of people. Although we drive each other nuts, she's a sweetheart and the most amazing and crazy gal you'll ever meet. I'll always be thankful of our friendship!
