more Proof Questions-

-Did anyone else's photographer cut out members of the bridal party in group shots? I understand that she was focusing in on us in the center and we had a large bridal party (6 guys 6 girls) but the only shots with no one cut out are the ones of just the guys and just the girls. My BIL in cut out totally in one and 2 BMS have their faces half covered by either my veil or my other BILs hair. She was shooting in digital so I feel like she coulds see that they were blocked and tell them to scooch in more or stand on their toes to make sure they were in the picture- there are SOOO many like that.

- In the more fun shots of me and the girls- again there are faces covered. Only one where we are all visible is when we are standing in the traditional 'line' pose.

-she never got a picture of the whole bridal party including the RBs and FG, or of DH and I coming back up the aisle from the front- she has us from behind.


I'm not going to make a huge deal yet because I think they 'forgot' to give me some proofs...

but did anyone else have these problems? Are people being cut out part of the photojournalistic style?


I will scan some pics in a few days (my mom is buying a new scanner cause hers isn't working- so I'm waiting on that- my pics won't be online for a bit) and hopefully you guys can let me know if I'm over reacting...

Maybe I just set my hopes too high...

I def. have enough 'nice' ones for my album- but there aren't any good ones of our first dance or either parent dance (In none of these are both of us looking at the camera) or one of us at the alter (they are all far away)

I'm sorry to be annoying and whiney- but I don't know if I'm over reacting about this or if there really is a deficit in quality...

I do think though, being on this site and seeing some AMAZING photographers and photos, it might tend to make you *compare*

Did you have 1 or 2 photographers? (I know who your main photographer was, but I can't remember if you had 1 or 2...) Our second photographer was a bit more traditional and got all of our portraits -- but our main photographer got the portraits, too, and no one was cut out...

Did you give them the list of must-take photos and did they take all of them satisfactorily? Did she bring an assistant? On my day, we had 2 photogs and 1 assistant. They were up our butts (albeit it in a nice way) about getting every single portrait we requested. The assistant's mission was to check off each photo as it was taken and we did receive all of them in our proofs. However, if we didnt' ask for a specific portrait, they wouldn't have known to take it necessarily.

I had 7 BMs and 6 GMs and they are all visible in every group shot. I don't remember 1 photo where anyone is cut out. That just doesn't make any sense to me... Without seeing the pic, it's had to tell (or even guess) if it's a style/artistic thing or just a bad picture. I didn't have too many bad pictures in my proofs...

I think I would ask to come in to go through all the shots that were taken -- that I hope they still have! I have no idea how photography studios work, but I would think they wouldn't completely delete all the non-proof pictures right away. But, I have no idea. I think it was definitely a good idea to email the owner right away and call if you don't hear back (just so they can save the pics for you to see if they still have them!) I feel so bad for you. I'm hoping that this is more an issue of them not giving you the best selection than it is of a total lack of quality photos.

I don't think anyone thinks you're overreacting or being whiney. You should be happy with your wedding pictures and it stinks that you're not. Hopefully you just got a bad selection of photos and there are plenty more that they took, but forgot to give you.

I'm just shocked b/c we had the same photographer and my proofs were awesome! I feel terrible that hers were not up to par. I feel terrible for anyone whose proofs aren't up to their expectations!!

ETA - kahlua -- I don't think you're being whiney or overreacting. To the contrary, it sounds like you are handling yourself very professionally with the photographer. I hope you are able to see the other pictures and get a satisfactory resolution. No one should be upset with their pictures!

We only had 1 photographer and she brought an assistant. He was both taking pics and bringing her different equipment and stuff like that.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping that the last ones I get (since they still owe me at least 82 pictures) will be great....I didn't want to get into quality issues until I see them all.

well here are some examples of people being 'cut out' in my proofs...but to me it's part of the journalistic style and didn't bother me...but i also have pics that do include everyone...i actually love the one that focuses on me as we are walking...i am sorry you are not happy...hopefully some of the ones you are waiting for will be what you wanted!
