Just thought I'd let you all know that sunday (10/27) is Mother In Law's day. My MIL called up last night to let me know.

Re: Mother In Law Day
Oooooh, does that have some connection with Halloween (since they are so close together?). Can I buy the old witch a new broom for her special holiday? I don't know if you ladies have a good relationship or not with your in-laws, but personally mine are ROTTEN

Re: Mother In Law Day
I'll be sure to keep you in the loop if I see them on sale!
I'm sure I know what I would get if it was Daughter In Law Day from her. More digs, stabs, innuendos, and 'misunderstood' comments. Oh yeah, and add in a case of agita (sorry aobut the spelling) from even having to deal with them. Agghhh!
Sorry for the rant ladies, but the woman makes me SICK!!!

Re: Mother In Law Day
Sharon I totally understand. I do not know what I would give my MIL..... Nothing...like you have given me...sorry j/k she gave me a wonderful man as my hubby, but I thanked her by taking him off her hands LOL. I do not hate her, but we have nothing in common and I feel no connection with her. Sometimes I think it is so hard for some of these mothers to see their grown sons fall in love. Its like they are mad that they have found someone to love them. I promise I will never be a mean MIL

Shamee - our mother inlaws must shop at the same store because I would be getting the same gift for daughter in laws day.

Cindy & Shamee .. count me in, too. My MIL has never even given me a chance .. we barely speak to each other .. but she sure has lots to say to my DH about me .. and she continues to insist that he call some other girl .. a girl she never even met or got to know .. a girl my DH never even dated!!

Kel, Sounds so like my situation too. I never had a chance and we barely see each other or talk. Since the wedding planning has ended I knew I wouldnt have to deal with her much which is nice...
good thing my MIL is in Spain...she would never know anyway!! lol

Re: Mother In Law Day
Good to see I am not alone in the MIL who doesn't like you boat. My MIL looked tense the whole wedding day, with this fake smile on her face. My SIL noticed, and said it was because I was marrying her favorite son (SIL has the older brother as her DH). A couple nights ago I heard her refer to me as 'whatshername' on the phone.
My DH thinks I imagine all this...oh the stories I could tell that would make your skin crawl about things she has done or said to me...and tells me I need to try and get along better with her. When I tell him of how she mistreats me, he says he doesn't want to hear it! How do you other girls handle it? Keep your mouth shut?

Diana- I totally understand. His mother was so miserable during the planning. She barely got up from her seat at the wedding. I try not to bring it up with him because unfortunately it is a battle I never win.
