MTV: 16 and Pregnant

So I'm watching the show with my SS (13) and I'm in SHOCK!!! Honestly, I want to know what is in the brains of these TEENAGERS!!??

I'm watching Leah and Corey's Show... This GIRL is OUT OF CONTROL!!! She is just 16 just had twins!! Had a 3yr relationship with another kid... LORD.. She got a responsible 'baby daddy' who actually cares and wants to MAKE IT WORK!... And all she thinks about it her EX! SMH...

My question is.. WHAT EVER HAPPEN TO ABSTINENCE!

I saw one or two episodes and now I always just change the channel. If I want to watch young idiots I'd rather watch Jersey Shore at least that one has hot guys and doesn't involve innocent babies.

honestly that show doesnt surprise me at all. I went to HS in the late 80s and early 90s and there were girls getting pregnant.....its no different now then from when we were growing up it just wasnt on TV then

I have to admit I've seen every episode, even of the last season

And I agree that I'm not shocked that a show like this is on either, I lived in Kentucky for a year and the HS I went to had a daycare in it for the students, I was shocked when I heard that especially coming from NY. And people thought it was strange that my sister who also went to the school was 17 and wasn't preggers or had any kids yet, it was very strange for us

For the relationship thing...she's 16! I remember all of the dumb relationship choices I made when I was that age...even though she has to grow up and take responsibility for two babies, she's still a 16 year-old girl and just doesn't recognize how much he's stepping up to the plate.

I live in Ohio right now (can't wait to move, 2 more months!), and I work at a university. A lot of my students are parents and YOUNG. It's just the culture around this part of Ohio to get married right out of high school and have babies. I'm not saying that I agree with having children at such a young age, but different parts of the country view teen pregnancy very differently.
