burnt down this morning while my kids watched! My kids are friendly with their kids. They weren't home at the time of the fire, luckily, but their 3 dogs died and some reptiles also perished. My daughter watched them carry out the great dane that she was just petting last week One bearded dragon survived, which my ex will pet sit until they get settled. They lost their tortoises and some other animals. Not sure how the chickens in the yard made out. I had to walk 1/2 mi to get my daughter from his house, since the road was closed. It smelt so bad. My daughter wants to start a fundraiser for them. They won't fit into my kids clothes. There is nothing left to save, everything is destroyed. I can't stop thinking about it. I met her a few times but my son goes to school with their son. He is 12 and the younger one is in kindergarden. It is so horrible. Channel 12 news was there as well.

Yes thankfully, that is the most important. It is so hard to look at.

3 dogs perished, it is beyond words. They went out for an hour. My ex didn't hear the fire alarm nor did the neighbor on the other side. My ex's house is so close to.

A lot of people that don't own don't have renter's insurance. It is so cheap it is almost dumb not to have minimal cvg. I think we pay like $130 for the year for 30,000 in cvg. They owned the home, but it might have been paid off, so not certain if there is homeowner's or not on it. My smoke detector malfunctioned last summer and we were out, the neigbor's whose house burnt 2 ys ago called the FD cause of my dog. They broke in through our bedroom window. It was really nice of them to worry about my dog. No insurance can replace that. My daughter and I thought of a good idea today also. I have a firebox, which everyone should have, for my papers but not my pics. Those aren't replaceable, more so when you have kids. i am going to back up my pics onto a cd and put them in that box.

Re: My ex's neighbor's house...
my house burnt down when I was about 9 yrs old. The salvation army was very helpful in giving us clothes. what size does the mother or father wear? maybe DH and I could donate some clothes if they fit. I'd love to donate money but I don't have much since I haven't gotten my first paycheck yet. I've also got lots of extra pots and pans, blankets...

My kids are upset over it, it is pretty wild to see such a fire and have such commotion in front of your house. Also, my son has been getting texts all day about other kids trying to get info on what happened. My daughter took it hard seeing 4 firefighters pull the dog out of the fire. Surprisingly the bearded dragon survived and is going to stay with them for awhile. My daughter wants to start a fundraiser for the family. I also offered to do a fundraiser from my business for them, and already put the word out to the PTO via email and I am awaiting a response. In the end, hopefully it will teach them a lesson about giving and about how precious life is.

Thank you. They aren't sure yet, it started in the basement. It shot through the electrical outlets and the walls. It completely destroyed every room in the house.
