ok so my right foot is blown up like balloon! it seriously looks like the foot of a woman who is 9 months preggers, but oddly enough my left foot is just fine. ***??? how do i fix this???

Does it hurt at all? I would ice it just to be sure that the swelling goes down a bit. Don't put a heating pad on-that will probably make it worse. If the swelling doesn't go down, I would call a doctor. Feel better.

it just feels very very tight and it's going up above my ankle. could i just be retaining water?? i just find it odd that it's only in 1 foot ya know?

Maybe it's a spider bite? My sister got one on the top of her ankle when she was little and it blew up like this. I think it just went away on it's own. I wish I had more info.

Did you hurt your foot at all or is a sudden swelling? When you push the foot with your finger does it take a few seconds for the skin to pop back up?

I would say either a spider bite or maybe the way you're sitting was not letting circulation.

Hmm you didn't twist it or sprain it somehow??? I would think cold would be best - maybe soak it in an ice bath - epsom salt if you have any. Light massage to the foot and up the ankle would also help to move the fluid. You can do the 'ankle alphabet' where you draw each letter with your toe pointed - just another way to move the fluid out of the tissues.
If you don't find relief of the swelling soon, you really should see a Dr.

Go to ther Dr.
My mom had this around TG and the cardiologist gave her water pills. She has heart problems so they were affraid it could be a clot. She took the water pills and it went away in a few days. It was most likely just from being on her feet all day on TG.
Did you bang it? Or have a dog bone dropped on it?

Kristi, if you cannot id the cause, I would make an appt. with the Dr. I also had this problem, and I was given a diuretic/water pill. ( I am diabetic/hypertensive 'high blood pressure') Your Dr. might want to check for any heart /diabetic related issues. Mary MOB

drink LOTS of water, elevate and maybe take some over the counter water pills!!
