My lunch

So I needed grease (for my hangover). A girl I work with said 'Oh, go to Tommy's Place. They make a great grilled cheese.' Ok, great idea. Never been there before, so I'll check it out.

OMG. It was like something out of a movie. The bartender had a long gray ponytail down to his waist and he was missing a front tooth. His MOTHER also worked there. She was pushing 90 and clearly doesn't like dentures.

There was dust on the liquor bottles. They had blackberry brandy. They served Pabst Blue Ribbon in a can. People were there playing Keno & doing scratch tickets. It was the f*cking Twilight Zone. I am about to kick the @ss of the girl who told me to go there.

Buuuut, the grilled cheese was very good.

it was a very buttery grilled cheese & bacon. It was good.

But please picture ME in my khakis & eyelet shirt, on my bright pink cell phone, carrying my pink Kate Spade bag, walking into this joint and pulling up to the bar. If there was a record, it would have skipped. I looked like an alien. I did not fit in.

it sounds like the town in Montana that DH grew up in! At least the food was good! Did everyone in the place turn to look when you walked in the door..as the music stopped? hahaha

Falafel Dave had a place in my town (E.G.) & it closed. I am broken hearted.

you put the PB & the J inside & you grill it in a pan with butter, like a grilled cheese. Its all gooey and absolutely divine!!!
