My name is not

CATHY!!!!!! It's a nice name it's just not my name!

Seriously what the heck people hear Catherine and automatically call me Cathy. You told me your name was Doug and your associate was Michael I did not call you Dougie and Mikey.

Does anyone else get nicknames they don't want put upon them?

when i tell people my name is Lori Beth, they always always always either call me:

Mary Beth
Mary Ann
or Lori

Okay, My name is Irene and people always call me Eileen. HELLO IRENE and EILEEN are not the same name.

I totally understand were you are coming from, it happens to me all the time.

OMG!!! I have the same thing!!! My name is Kathryn...i say, 'hello my name is Kathryn'...and next thing ya know...it's 'hey Kathy!'

It's funny when i was younger i hated Kathryn cause i felt it was an 'old lady's' name and went by Kathy (my friends said they refuse to call me Kathryn..haha)...now i don't like using Kathy...i feel Kathryn is more 'grown up' and professional....I don't mind Kat or Kath though..which is what most close to me call me.

If our parents wanted us to be Eileen, Mary Beth or Cathy they would have named us that. I just think to call someone a completely different name after they told it to you 2 seconds ago is so rude. Could you make any more obvious that you are not paying attention to me.

The funny thing is after meeting them they call back and will say they met with Cathy and whoever answers the phone will say nobody by that name works in this office.

Since my name is Ryan, I usually bget 'what?' like 3 times, then followed by 'Is that short for something?' Nope just Ryan, my mom wanted to start a trend! Down in the carribean it was even WORSE, everyone on the ship thought I was using my husbands card, I finally just brought my license with me everywhere!

here...i made you one! hahahaa My company's name is Kitty Kat Graphics....i had some client call me 'Kitty Kat' all the time because i told her i came up with the name from a friend's nickname for Kathryn...

i totally feel ur pain. my name is patricia but i go by trish or tricia. people see patricia and automatically assume they can call me pat and i'm very quick to correct them and tell them its PATRICIA!!

With my name some (well, more than some) people mispell my name. How can you mispell 'Charlotte'? A few people have mispronounced my name Car-lette, Scarlett.

This is how the kids remember my name after that famous little spider who has her own movie
called 'Charlotte's Web'.

I have a Spanish name, my first name is'
Maria del Carmen (yes, all of that is my first name)
In Spain we shorten it to Mary Carmen, but If I tell people that her in the States they call me Mary Not even CLOSE to my name. So, now I just use the name Maria with people who don't know me an professionally@

Alice, it's Alison... Two different names completely. Ali, Al fine - knicknames - but, Alice is not the same as Alison (although it's a nice name, it just isn't mine!)

People do this to my mom too - her name is Suzanne, she goes by Sue, and introduces herself as Sue, and tons of people (even people she is friendly with) just lengthen the Sue to Susan...

OH God! I can totally relate to all of you. My name is Veronica and everyone automatically assumes I want to be called Ronnie. To make things worse DH's name is Rony (pronounced Ronnie) so whenever we meet new people, their like 'Oh how cute, Ronnie and Rony!'

It's so annoying.

OMG! I get the same exact thing! I hate the name Pat or even Patty! I go by Trisha or Trish too... My full name is Patricia though.

Don't you hate it when they don't say Patricia and call you somethig like Patreecia!

The priest did it when he was reading our vows and I repeated it exactly like he did (Patreecia). I am such a dumbarse b/c I hate that pronunciation and now it's on my video!
