my newlywed diet support thread

Original post by marriedinmontauk

Ok...like many of you I have gained some weight since my wedding....and I am kind of bummed out about it.
So I am starting this thread so we can send each other healthy slender energy.
Please post your success stories so we can be inspired and help each other.
Because if I have to start digging out my old fat clothes I don't know what I will do.

Peace!

Re: my newlywed diet support thread

My wedding weight was pretty tiny and hard to maintain but it is a goal. Its not that far off either...maybe 4 pounds??? I have been bringing lunch every day for 2 weeks to help save $$ and to eat better. I have tried to stay away from sweets (my downfall) but its hard. I caved and had 2 brownies the other day and McD ff - it felt good to cheat and since it was in moderation I didnt gain anything...yay! I am back on track now.

Please share what you are eating every day...here is my list:

Breakfast - oatmeal (Im obessesed)
Snack - yogurt of fat free pudding
Lunch - salad and falafel, low fat dressing
Snack - apple or banana
Dinner - soup, veggies, chicken, whatever we are making.
Snack - Chips and salsa or nuts

I wish we didnt have chips and salsa in the house...its sooo good!

I'm with you, i love oatmeal. I usually put a 1 tblsp of peanut butter in it to give it some protein (tip from my former nutritionist) and it's delish

Breakfast: oatmeal with PB or 0% fage yogurt drizzled with honey, some fruit and ground flax
snack: cheese stick or gnu bar
lunch: either gargen veg soup and 1/2 wrap or a salad. This week i've eaten leftover white bean chicken chili that we made, every day
dinner: depends. not usually good b/c i'm at school. DH makes mex a lot (turkey tacos) or whole wheat spaghetti with sauce.

I'm thinking of fasting for two weeks though b/c i feel like CRAP lately... hoping to detox a little and start eating healthy again after the fast, the way i used to.

this week has been a mess for me because i work at a university and we have all of our new student events which means tons of gross catered food but typically i eat something like this everyday:

breakfast: protein shake (either strawberry or blueberry with almonds and protein powder)
morning snack: 2 low fat string cheese and grapes OR low fat cottage cheese and fruit
lunch: salad of some sort and an apple
afternoon snack: zone bar
dinner: usually some variation of chicken and veggies

my big downfall is sweets too! this week i've been horrible with sweets and wouldn't you know it, i have a cold now. i seriously think sugar breaks down my immune system but that's just my own theory next week i'm totally going back off the sugar!

ps....this is my fav LIW thread!

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well....sadly I have been sick a lot the past two weeks, so it really threw me off track. Hoping to get back on it tomorrow!

yea...went to gym today....feel like a new person!
First time I have been healthy since Christmas day.
I am actually down 3.5 since we started the thread....I think some of the medicines I was on made me puffy.

Thats great. Good luck!

This was a bad week for me. Only -1 lb. No exercising for me this week as my grandpa was in the hospital. I was away for 5 days and at the hospital most of the day.

Hospital = greasy cafeteria food!!

that is great. I lost 17 lbs going to a nutritionist. she really helped me. then she moved to CA but i was pretty much at my ideal weight. I've since plateued/yo-yo'ed and never found another like her.

I also got it covered under FSA b/c i had stomach issues so she just wrote it was for IBS

good luck!

Re: my newlywed diet support thread

Ben's girl...sorry about your back!!!
Laura...sorry about your grandad's illness.

That's great you lost another pound.

Feeling very sorry for myself today.
so after I made all these appointment for the trainer and nutritionist....boom....Last night I found out that Monday my work schedule will completely change. I will go from second shift to first
I guess I should be happy I was not laid off like my work friend.
I don't know whether to cancel the contract with the new gym, or try to find a way to re-schedule everything, which will be tough.
My commuting time just went up an hour a day. Also my husband works second so this is a lot less time together.

I have been doing a bit better with the eating...still just down 3.5 since the start of the thread, but I'd rather be on the way down than up.

Hey everyone! How's it been going? I too put on 20 pounds since the wedding It was such a bad combination of honeymoon and holidays paired with the general post-wedding lull. I knew I was in trouble when my 'fat' clothes were even getting tight.

I started back on my old WW ways and am down 3.5 to date. I also wanted to share this website which I recently found. I think its great b/c DH and I still have a wicked sweet tooth and now can make sweet treats that are more healthy and a ton of other healthy recipes too!

Re: my newlywed diet support thread

Hey girls. I threw out my scale in October because I was obsessing over it, but I went to the MD last week and almost died when I saw how much I packed on I bought a new scale and I'm back to the gym on Monday. All of my clothes are tight and all I've been wearing is sweater dresses

Good luck and keep up the good work, ladies!! I need some inspiration
