My Proofs
I am so sad and I really don't want to keep harping on the subject with my DH. I got my proofs back and they are horrible. I gave the photographer a list of must have photos and he didn't do any of them. I have no pictures of my room set up, my centerpieces, my bo-k, our rings, the placecard table, and he messed up the invite in the picture.I had a whole theme going with my wedding and I made up menu cards for the tables that matched the place cards and the STD's and the invites. He did not take one picture of any of those things.
I am so upset because I trusted he would do these things and now I have no photo memories.
I even had vanity Newsday's made and gave out Krispy Kreme donuts at the end and I have no pictures of that!!
I am so upset
Thanks for letting me vent. I know it's not the end of the world, but pictures are the most important part. This is coming from someone who is a huge scrapbooker and gave my DH a scrapbook of our 10 years of dating as a gift before the wedding.
I am so miserable right now

I'm so sorry
Possibly did any guests take any photos of the things you mentioned? Maybe you could get copies made? I know that it was the photographers responsibility, but if you can get them from someone at least you'd ahve them.
Sorry again!

Maybe some of your guests took pictures and you can get it from them.I would definatly bring this up with the photographer. Ours forgot to give us a WHOLE roll of picutres!! Re: My Proofs
Oh god...that is totally aweful!Do you like the photos they took of you two and the action of the day?
I know it wont be the same but if I were you i would bring those things to my photographer (STD, invite, vanity paper, etc..) and ask that they take some 'still life' shots of them making sure to use a background that wont be too obviously out of place. It wont make up for all of the things they missed but at least you will have photos of some of these things that you worked so hard on.

I am really sorry that this happened to you. How were the other pictures...the ones with the people? Those are the ones that really count.

Re: My Proofs
We took pictures at the Vanderbilt Museum and they came out pretty nice, but the one of the ceremony are terrible. I am hoping my Aunt and my Uncle have some better ones.Girls, they look like I was the first wedding he photographed. I have better pictures from my friend of the cake cutting and the dances. He took photos and they came out blurry. The owner said there is nothing he can do to fix blurry photos. He said that if I have other pictures that are better and I would like to use for the album, I can get the negative and he can do that. But, really, doesnt that defeat the purpose of hiring a photographer. He didn't take one closeup of my bo-k. I am so upset!
edited to say: Stef, that's a good idea, I have some of the stuff, I should make him go to Larkfield and setup the table and take a picture. I wonder if I could make them do that?

Re: My Proofs
A good photographer would try to do pretty much anything to make up for the obvious oversights on his part. If he can refund you some $$ on your package so you can have your bouquet remade, he should be able to get those shots. I guess it depends on the reception sites willingness to let him take a photo of a table set up but no harm in trying.Things like invites and other items should not be a problem to rephotograph.
Who did you use?

Re: My Proofs
Steph it is in her profile.Did you scan any proofs for us to see? I'm so sorry!
Did they have any excuses? I know at one wedding the bride hated her shots but for the whole time the mom was chasing the guy around making him take family photos so he missed everything important to the bride.
I'm really sorry! I hope they make it up to you somehow. I know for our wedding I had full faith in the Commack Wedding Center and I actually made sure family didn't take too many shots because I had a professional. I hope this can be cleared up some how.
What about your video guy? Can he make still pictures from there??

Re: My Proofs
Stef, that's a great idea about remaking the bouquet. I wonder what he would say?I was thinking the same thing about still shots from the videographer. I am so afraid to ask the videographer, because with the luck I've been having with the quality of my vendors, I'm afraid he'll say the tapes are lost or blank!
I should give a call and see what he says.
I know it's not the end of the world, but I feel like it was such a waste of money. We are going to buy a scanner tomorrow, so I will try to post some of the pictures.
The ceremony pictures are awful!

Re: My Proofs
If your photographer is a professional I would tell him to get his butt on the phone with your video guy and beg him to try to work something out with him.You shouldn't have to worry about this. Try to make him do the leg work. Especially since it seems like their photographer didn't on your day!

Re: My Proofs
As far as I know, you cant get good quality photos from a video. (You can get stills but they are pretty pixelized and not good for prints.) There may be a program that makes them a little more clear but they will not be like a professional photo. Sorry.

Re: My Proofs
Actually you can get great ones Steph. These pictures are of a friend's wedding out in Colorado at the USAFA these were taken from her wedding video he has them on his site, he has sample shots from it as photos instead of showing videos like wild rose does
SO THERE IS STILL HOPE! The only thing is you may not be looking directly at the lense... but he still may have gotten the moments
I wish you the best of luck!

Re: My Proofs
OMG!!!! Those pictures are from a video!!! There is some hope
You are all so wonderful for taking the time to give me suggestions. Thank You, thank you, thank you!!

If I could get some shots of the ring exchange, I would be soooo happy. He didn't get one clear shot of that. And the picture of us kissing for the first time shows us in mid-hug, so our arms look strange. This sure does give me hope!

Re: My Proofs
Yes they are! They are from her video guys website. The chapel on base only allows them to use certain vendors and that only they can take pictures espcially during the service. And as you can see in the one shoot her photographer is next to the groom and the priest and that some of the angles are off but a photography studio or printer SHOULD be able to fix that if they are professional.
Her guy used 3 chip digital equipment as well (not sure what that means exactly)
edited to say.. well I'm glad I posted her moments of that so that you can see there is some hope!
