I have a question regarding changing your name on your social security card.. if you live in queens do you have to go to the office in jamaica or can I go to the one in the city?

I live in Queens and mailed the application, my passport, birth certificate and marriage license to the Jamaica office and had my new card in 2 weeks.

You have to go to the one in Jamaica if you are a Queens resident.

I'm a Queens resident and I went to the SS office in Rego Park and they said I had to go to Jamaica. I asked if I could mail it in and they said no. Damn them!

I'm glad I read this...I was going to go to one in the city early next week, and I'm a Queens resident. Saved me a headache and an early morning!
