Re: name change and travelling question
no i don think anything will pop up...you dont need your ssc to travel...your licence? what name does that have? you should be fine, as long as your passport is changed...
if you are worried tho, you have enough time to change your ssc

Re: name change and travelling question
Your last name is changed technically the day you go to SS. The letter/card/receipt they gave you serves as proof of your new name during the time you are waiting for your new card.

Re: name change and travelling question
your passport only needs to match the travel tickets. I am not changing my passport so I will always travel under my maiden name but everything else is changed.

I don't think so. As long as your passport matches your travel tickets you should be fine. Does your driver's license have your married name? If not, I might carry my marriage license just in case but I'm anal when it comes to IDs!

Re: name change and travelling question
I changed my passport to both names since that's what I did on my marriage license (with a space between) but when I booked our tickets to Ireland I booked under only my married name.
That was a HUGE PITA!!!! I couldn't check in online because they didn't match.
I never have this problem when I travel domestically because on my driver's license it just looks like I have two middle names instead of two last names.
Annoying, but they still let me on all the flights. I just had to check in at the gate.

Re: name change and travelling question
FYI, the Jamaica SS office opens super early ... I went at 7:15 to do my stuff. I think they open at 7 IIRC. You could go and then go into work a few min late ... you will not have to wait either if you go that early.

Re: name change and travelling question
They let you change your name to both your maiden name and your husbands name without the hyphen? they wouldn't let me do that and now i have to file court papers to have that as my name. now thats a PITA! where did you go?
