In what order should i do this? I feel like i can't even do this until the end of the month since i probably need a whole day off to stand in lines and the next two weeks are super busy... i was thinking-
1st- Social Security office
2nd- DMV
3rd- Notify HR @ work of name change for payroll/benefits
4th- eventually change passport
-am i missing anything or does this order matter? also are there any forms i need to bring with me or do they provide you with them?

thats the order i did it in... dont forget about changing any credit cards as well.

That's the order I think most people do it. You definitely need your SS card before you can change it at work and passport should be done last since you have to send your marriage certificate out for that one. I know it's not as big as the other ones, but if you're changing your name at work, change it at the bank, too!

Yup, that's the order I did it. Honestly, I was in and out of the SS office and the DMV in 15 minutes each. Then I went to the bank and was there longer than the SS and DMV combined. You need your marriage license for the bank too.

what offices are you going to?
I went ot West Babylon for SS and was there dor 2 1/2 hours the 1st time just to go back on Monday due to a typo and wait another hour. I went when they opened.
i'm going to DMV next thrsday......Massapequa sound good?? haha

2.5 hours? yikes! hopefully its better for you at the DMV... let us know how it goes!
