Name change websites? help??

Hey all! I was thinking about using the missnowmrs. website to change my name but a friend pointed out something. She said that you give them tons and tons of information about yourself. Like bank accounts and stuff. How did you change your name? Did anyone use a website or did you go to each place individually. I'd like to soon start this process.

i went to each place and took care of it. I wouldn't personally give all of that info to a website, just because you don't know who's on the up & up.

I honestly didn't have to change it in many places though...

1. Social Security
2. DMV
3. My bank
4. Work
5. Health Insurance

We waited until we were married to get passports, so there wasn't a name change there, but an application fee.

just do it the old fashioned way---i personally think a site like that is a utter and complete waste of money...and you have to give them all sorts of stuff.

The 2 places where you have to go in person are DMV and SS. It really doesn't take as long as you think.

Most everything else can be done over the phone and thru the mail......all but 1 of my CCs did the change thru the phone, and the other one just wanted me to fax stuff.

Do it on your own and save the fee this site charges. I also am quite wary about giving some stranger ALL of my personal information.

Visit :
SS, DMV, banks, work HR department
Call :
credit cards, insurance companies, airline mile programs, etc.

I wouldn't give away all of that personal info on the web.

I first did the DMV and SS then went on to our bank accounts and insurance. I have been changing my credit cards as I feel like it.

I have heard great things about that site and will use it.
If I could get to SS and DMV when they're open, that'd be one thing. But they very inconvenient hours. And it's quicker and easier to have someone else do it.
