Need anniversary help!!!

With our one year anniversary coming up I need ideas how to make it special for Matt. God knows he deserves it. This year has been nuts!!

We don't have the top of our cake With everything going on with my mom during the wedding my dad didn't know he was supposed to save it. So he either ate it or tossed it. So that tradition is out.

Since we are closing on the house on friday we are poor and won't be affording anything fancy and we have decided no gifts!!

Matt helped through so much this year I just want to make it special for him. Any ideas?

Re: Need anniversary help!!!

You got married at the Milleridge, right? Why not go to the bakery and ask them to make a small round cake with the same flavors? Then you can write something cute on it?

Re: Need anniversary help!!!

Buy a bottle of the champagne you drank that night and toast yourselves with that. Most reception sites do not serve expensive champagne so its probably less than $20/bottle.

Hey Jen! Congrats!
Well since you want to make it special for him I dunno maybe buy a DVD of his like favorite movie for you guys to watch together at your new house? Get some food ready-made, some wine and set the table nice with the good china? I'm not too good at this... I got Jimmy a PS2 game he was dying for for our anniversary

Re: Need anniversary help!!!

Will you be in the new house already on your anniversary? What about a cute 'carpet picnic' with the champagne (like stef suggested) and the cake from the bakery (like sassy75 suggested) and then make something for dinner that you know he loves.....
Set it all up on a big blanket with a candle (one that won't tip on the floor though...hehe).

And then write him a letter telling him what this past year has meant to you....and then toast to your first married year!

ok, ok, I am corny! but I did this for DH on his birthday last year when we were in super saver mode for the wedding and he LOVED it....He still talks about it as one of the most romantic things I ever did for him!
