Need Canada Vacation help!

We are planning a week long vacation to Canada...

We plan on going to Montreal, then Quebec, then Toronto, then Niagara Falls and back home. We've never been to these places so any suggestions on things to do, places to see, places to stay??

TIA

I can only tell you about Niagara, but definitely do the Maid of the Mist and the Journey Behind the Falls. Awesome experiences!

Montreal is awesome. Definitely see the Old town and walk up and down St Catherine.

We stayed at Novotel Montreal Centre. It was really nice. right off of St Catherine.

I Montreal!

Old Montreal is fantastic. Just take your time and walk around...the buildings there are phenomenal.

There's another part of town by McGill University...I don't remember the name of that area, but it's kinda like the Village here...lots of boutiques, small bars and restaurants, artsy-ish.

Make sure to try poutine (sp?) and Keith's beer!!!!

Also Rue St. Catherine!!!! My fave.

We LOVED Montreal. It's gorgeous, it's funky, the people are awesome and it's a lot of fun! Just walking down the street and windowshopping is fun!

Toronto I liked, but it was very similar to New York to me and being in New York every day ... felt less like a vacation and more like a change of scenery.

I went to Niagara when I was a kid and don't remember much of anything other than the Falls.

I think it's called the Plateau.

I love that area too. Your spelling of poutine is correct. Firefox just doesn't recognize it as awesome.

Ditto. There's also the Skylon tower (I think it has a restaurant way up there too), IMAX theater and Cliffton Hill (sp?) which is just a strip of all sorts of things to do like Ripley's, etc. Oh! Also there is this speedboat ride! It is awesome! You wear full body rain gear and still get soaked.

Thanks for all of the responses so far!!! I've already looked up a couple of the places mentioned and definitely will be including them in the plans!

Finally, ideas we'll enjoy doing...when I google stuff to do in Canada I get tons of museums and galleries. I can't do a full week of museums!!! LOL

Thanks so much ladies and please keep more recommendations coming!!!

I went to an awesome restaurant in Toronto called Spice-it was great food and great ambiance for drinks afterwards.

The hotel in Toronto I stayed at was Le Germaine (it was gorgeous).

If you can get to Vancouver, it is one of my favorite cities in the world!! I love love love it there.

If I think of more, I'll FM you.

Here's a link to that awesome restaurant/lounge in Toronto

http://www.spiceroute.ca/index2.html

And here's the link to that great hotel

http://www.germaintoronto.com/en/index.asp

FYI the restaurant is less than a 10 minute walk from that particular hotel.

Make sure you go shopping on Bloor St and Queen St!!

Thanks so much for the links. Question though, I was reading on a website to be careful in Toronto because it can get dangerous at night...any opinions or areas to stay away from??

Keep the suggestions for Canada coming ladies, I love knowing I can count on you girls for good places!!
