Need laundry help

While fueling up the truck last night, my DH spilled diesel all over him. I put his shorts in the wash and now everything that was in that wash REEKS of diesel. Any ideas on how I can get the smell out?

Try lemon juice, let them sit in it.
If not just keep washing them

I would re-wash it and see if the smells is less or go old school and hang all the clothes outside to let them air out.

ITA with lemon juice (maybe even run it twice).. it should neutralize the smell.

Caroline, this might be obvious but DONT put the clothes in the dryer either, the fumes together with the dryer's heat could make it go 'kapow'
Go retro and use a clothesline!!!

Lemon juice is a great tip, I use it for lots of things:

So far I have washed the load 5 times. I'm home today (state holiday in RI) so I have been glued to the laundry room. My entire laundry room smells like diesel fuel. I put an ENTIRE bottle of 100% lemon juice in there. No luck,. I put in Baking soda. Still stinks. Now I am washing it with 2 cups of vinegar. I'm in hell. All my towels were in there.
