my passport since I have to send in my ORIGINAL marriage cert. I really do not want to send in the original. Why can't they just accept a photo copy!!?
What is the big deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don't worry about it. It's just like having to send in your Original birth cert to get your passport for the first time....marriage cert if lost is a lot easier to replace than original birth cert

They want a copy of the certificate with a raised seal on it. You can order another through your town hall usually. (Same as with you birth certificate)

i thought you could send a certified copy from the town hall? I was actually going tomorrow to pick one up from the city clerk. they said it would cost $10.

I ordered a 2nd one for $10 at the town hall. That's the one I sent in for my passport.

This is exactly what I am doing. I got the 'certified' copy from Town Hall & that is what I am sending...

I read that too. It's the last document I'm going to worry about for changing my name. I want to hang onto the license and finish all the other name changing tasks first.
I'm sure they will send the certificate back. It's pretty standard procedure.
