New doggy news
So, after our past experience, DH and I started talking about becoming parents again (haha....no, not babies) and adopting a dog. Its taken a lot of convincing on my part because DH is very afraid to bring another dog into the house now...but I finally got him to start getting excited about it. But this time we want to do it right. We decided that right after Thanksgiving would be the best time for us to bring a new member into the family. I contacted a local humane society and told them exactly what we're looking for: an older dog (about a year old) who is already housebroken, medium sized, calm-even temper, affectionate, not very vocal. They told me this could take weeks or even longer to find a match, but they were willing to keep an eye out for us. WELL....I get an email this evening from the shelter and they have a dog thats perfect. His name is Ranger, he's a smaller sized shepard mix who has been with them for a long time at the shelter
He's very very affectionate and excellent with other animals -- and .....he shows all signs of being housebroken!
BUUUUUT....we cant bring a doggie into the home until after Turkey Day because we're flying home to NY for 5 days and I wouldnt want to kennel the dog so soon after getting him
Ugh....this s u c k s. I really hope they still have him there when its time for us to adopt. Its a month away, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I wish I could get a dog now....im sooo lonely at home by myself, but i know we need to wait a little longer.
