Re: New Home Owners Roll Call
We have it now and will still when we move. We started with Petro but switched to Slomins. You can negotiate price with them. Get quotes from a few, and if there is a service in 1 you like better than the other, you can try to negoiate the prices with them.

Re: New Home Owners Roll Call
We have Petro and they have been great. A co-worker recommended them with glowing praise, telling me about how he awoke at 3:00 AM to find the heat off - not good when you have a toddler and a 5-month old baby. Petro was at the house in less than an hour to fix the problem.
We had a great repair experience too. We had a pin-hole leak in our boiler pipes that had deposited a few inches of water on the basement floor before we discovered it We managed to stem the flow and direct the drips to a bucket, and called Petro. Since it wasn't a critical situation, they said it would be somone would be there in 2-3 hours - they showed up in about an hour and a half and fixed the leak - no charge, it was covered since we have a contract with them for our oil. Hubby was mentioning to the repairman that we had problems with the shower going hot and cold and the guy looked at the pipes and noticed there was no back-flow valve. He got one from his truck and installed that too - no charge! He said that Petro's policy is that if they see a problem they can fix in under an hour, then go ahead and fix it, even if it's not technically part of the covered policy!
You can get cheaper rates, but I'll pay a bit extra for guaranteed service like that any day. They also quoted us a price for installing some new baseboard heat and they will spread the payments over 12 months with no interest.
