Does anyone know when/why New Island Hospital closed down their maternity ward??
I just found this out recently, and was wondering why?
Also, does anyone have an opinion as to which is better, NSLIJ in Plainview or Winthrop??

My sister delivered both of her daughters at Winthrop and they were great. I was in the delivery room with her and my BIL for my first niece and it was so nice. Each mom to be has her own delivery room with a really nice setup. They allow all of the family into the delivery room AFTER the baby is born but before they are brought to the nursery.

New Island closed their maternity ward years ago, not sure why. I was actually born there!
