It seems like many of our friends (both mine and DH's) have turned into duds who don't do anything anymore. Granted, we don't have children or a house yet which gives us more flexibility, but these people don't do anything!!!!!! Anyone in the same boat as me?

Duds, what a funny term... FH's buddies have always been duds, I think. My friends still do things, and FH now gets to do stuff with me which he wouldn't normally do...

I think i am a dud too!! sometimes on the weekend i cant even bring myself to go to the theatre to see a movie!!

Count me as a dud. I love being home. I still go to the movies or out to dinner but I love being home with my DH and my kitty. I see my girl friends 1-2 a week and I speak to my best friend everyday. But there are no more party times for me, and that is okay.

I feel like that...some have turned in to duds and others have either have kids or moved away and bought houses - so it isn't as easy.
If DH and I don't plan the event, it typically doesn't happen. Then to try and plan something it is so much work!!!
I miss those Thursday night happy hours or even just Sat dinner and some beers/drinks....

My friends and I seem to be growing and changing at the same rate. We are no longer the 'bar crowd'. Luckily we ALL now prefer doing lunch and shopping days or Happy Hour at someone's home instead.

I think we have become duds...a big night our for us is a trip to the movies & maybe dinner. I rarely go out anymore unless it is meeting friends after work for a quick drink or a celebration of some sort.

A dud(ette) here too! Not on purpose, because we are so exhausted by the weekend, we just want dinner and a movie. I've been dying for a night out though - he's more of a dud than I am!

I guess if we are talking dinner and a movie, I am a dud as well. But what I am talking about is that our friends rarely even do that!

I'm a dud too. We used to go out to eat at least twice a week, but since we moved out here 1. the house takes priority in terms of cash flow 2. we don't know that many couples to go out with anyway.

I try not to be a Dud but I think it just happens. Last night my sister and I had tickets to Nine. Since it was so nice out we met at Bryant Park. I used to be there at least every Thurs. night. Last night I sat in the park across from the bar waiting my sister to arrive. I had -0- desire to join the croud at the bar. Dudsville for me.

I'd say we have the tendency to be duds but we are getting better. DH finally met a couple he enjoys being around so we have been socializing with them more.
Our friends with kids rarely have the opportunity to go out, I wont call them duds b/c they are parents, but I do miss just hanging out with them.

As we get a little older, we cannot stay up as late as we used to. We have a lot more responsibilities now. We still always have family and friends over for dinner. We do enjoy going out to dinner also,sometimes just the two of us,sometimes with another couple. We rarely get to the movies but we do enjoy renting them so we can watch it when we get a chance.
