So I've always had short hair but I've been growing it out since my friends wedding last yr and then kept growing it for my recent wedding...we'll i'm sick of all this damn hair and I want to do the chop but DH keeps asking me not to...HELP!!!
why dont you go half way instead of totally doing a drastic chop? like maybe cut it so its just touching your shoulders and then put angles in it or something

wow I say do it, I just did mine and it's very liberating...but it seems as though yours grows so quickly, so you can always grow it back. You have gorgeous hair!!!

i say do it! i went drastically short, and at first DH did NOT want me to cut my hair, and now he doesn't want me to grow it out. i also look at it this way, for me long hair was a big pain the butt. i was the one who had to take care of it, not DH. you should do what makes you happy. i'm sure he'll like it no matter what you decide.

chop it! Sometimes DH's say they like long hair because they're thinking of long hair in general. DH was so scared when I cut my hair and I cut off 10 inches and he ended up loving it AND it went towards a wig for a cancer patient how can DH be mad about that?

Re: Newlywed Chop...w/ poll
I LOVE your hair, wish I could have long curly (neat) curls like you, I have frizzy curls or i iron out my hair. I had my hair colored with blonde streaks which turned HORRIBLE brassy color so now I just colored my hair again last night a darker reddish brown to cover it all up and then I have to get a major cut since there is damage.
SO for me maybe get a good trim and keep it its so lovely and then near the summer then chop it off because that is when its nice to have shorter hair.

How about you go and get it cut and maybe reshapped? You don't have to chop it and get it really short, but just get a like 2-3 inches off. That way if you are unsure, you dont have to go drastic right away.

Re: Newlywed Chop...w/ poll
All summer, I said I was going to chop mine before the HM :) but I kinda like it long, and now that it's not hot out, it doesn't bother me too much. (I do hate how it gets tangled up in knots whenever I wear a hooded sweatshirt, jacket, collared shirt, etc ...) I think I am going to put angles in mine, like this ... without the bangs ... and then cut it like v. beckham in april or something when it starts getting hot.

do it! Everyone kept telling me not to cut it..some people actually had the nerve to tell me I would look horrible if I cut it..well I did it! not only did EVERYONE LOVE IT, but i did too! it only takes 20 minutes to straighten! People who told me not to do it to begin with loved it!!!!

i think i might do something like this....and i think i might just make an appointment for tomorrow after work and just DO IT
Everytime I go to get my tips trimmed I get like 5 inches taken off IMO and in DH's opinion a women look gorgeous with long hair. It your going to cut it and it doesn't hurt you to cut it then go ahead, but if your DH is asking you not to is because he loves your hair long, you may want to consider chopping it off after you make a year.

id just tell him how much youre really wanting to do this, give him the heads up and go for it. dont lop it all off but you can have a great midlength cut even.

I say go for it - I just did, even though DH prefers my hair long. I'm glad I did - I've been getting so many compliments from people at work and family/friends,I feel like a new me, and I actually think it makes me look younger.
