Newlywed Vent: I'm sick of changing my name!

Gah, I've been calling places, going places, and everything else changing my name, what a pain in the arse I think I'm ALMOST done though.

Down to my last credit card (thankfully VS, NY&Co and The Limited all have the same company maintaining their accounts )

Then all I need to do is fix my verizon account, I think.

Gah!

I know. I had all of the usual then no less than 9 colleges/universities where I have transcripts and all of my Dad's information as I'm his power of attorney since his stroke (I handle all medical and financial paperwork). Besides all of my stiuff... his stuff alone... new power of attorney was drafted, two banks, two investment houses, his former employer for pension, living will, house insurance, TWELVE doctors, all of his utilities, his 'I've fallen and can't get up' button company... Yes it was a full time job for about a week.

I went through 50 copies of my marriage license

I've been married for a year, and i still have things in my maiden name!

I hear ya! It's been a 3 week battle with my job to hyphenate and I had to give up and just change my name...so frustrating...why do we have to change, how cme DH doesn't go through this?

I understand! I'm only starting, but changing my name with HR is the biggest hassle so far. You should see all of the proof I need to bring them, and I work for them! And I know going to the DMV will be no joy.

I'm doing it little by little though. I figure there's no huge rush to get it done.

6 months here, and still havent changed most things (license, SS, etc...)

i have the rest of my life with this name... whats the rush

I hear you! and I keep getting things back WRONG, I added DH's last name to mine w/o a hyphen and some places don't get it, I got something with HIS LASTNAME AND then mine, things with hyphens, things making my first and middle name one name together.......

I logged the hours of all the work and I think I am up to about 24 now!

Some things I am just giving up on for now I think!

It took me a few weeks to do the whole process. What a pain! I changed everything but one of my credit cards. I never use it, so there is no need to change it.

i'm new to this and just filled out my first round of about 10 change of name forms!!

do you have to order all those 'official' copies or do you just run off your own??
