We invited the priest to both the RD and the wedding. He did not attend.

Yes, we invited our priest to both rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. However, the priest was unavailable to attend both. Lucikly he was able to make it to the rehearsal ceremony otherwise we'd really be totally lost on the actual wedding day! We wanted to get to know him more since our original priest was a family friend of DH's family for many years, however due to unforseen circumstances he was not able to be our priest. So we were able to get a replacement within 10 days of our wedding and wanted to get to know him more since he would be sharing our special day which is why we'd invited him to both RD and wedding reception.

We also wanted to do a blessing at the wedding reception by him, but that didn't happen since he wasn't there. We did had a Lithuanian blessing that was just both sets of parents (hubby is half Lithuanian). The Elements of Life using rye bread, red wine, salt: bread that food will always be on the table, wine for the joy or sweetness in life and salt for the bitterness in life.
