It wasn't bad. I actually found the best time on earth to travel the Belt Parkway is Thanksgiving at 5:30PM.

Mine was Great too! :) My first time hosting a dinner in my new homeMy turkey came out perfect!
I served Ham, Mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green bean casserole.
It was great. And I used my china (for those interested -- I had posting on here debating whether I should). It survived and so did I! :) And, the best part -- NO ONE GOT FOOD POISIONING! :)
We had 9 people for dinner and 12 for desert! :)

Re: Newlyweds: How was your Thanksgiving?
I voted for pretty good!My mother hosted (we do have the dishwasher in our appartment) but I made Turkey and potato/tomato/onion/cheese caserole!
I think it was the best turkey I ever made, if I don't say so myself! I marinated it overnight in my special sauce and it turned out prefect! It made me especailly happy because last time I made turkey it was a little dry becuase we just moved in to a new appartment and I didn't get used to the new oven yet!
(Ya know how they are all different? It gets tricky when you need to make something that is so time sensitive! Sometimes an extra 5 minutes or too high of a temprature ruins the whole bird!
) It was only the immediate family and good time was had by all!
But my late mother-in-law was greatly missed! It was the first thanksgiving without her! My Father in Law was upset and didn't even want to come but we made him! He would have just sat home alone, cried and had a few vodka shots!
NOT a good way to spend Thanksgiving! I told him that it's his decision, of cource, but we will sat a plate for him, because thanksgiving is the day you spend with your FAMILY!So he was with us and had a good time! He loved my turkey!
So, overall it was a very good day!
