We have two laptops here, but paid way too much and dh will not take it to the construction site...
So I figured I would get him a mini, less of a chance for it to break, since it will fit into his bag...
Anyone have a mini? Do you like it? Which do you have?

Re: next question- Anyone have a dell mini?
We have about 5 of them here at the store for various uses. I don't know the exact model, but they're all definitely HP and entry level, no frills. They are cute, lightweight and easy to use, but definitely the entry level ones don't have a ton of processing speed at all. It takes time just to surf the web sometimes. Also the screens and keyboards are small too, but you can get used to that. Overall they're pretty good little machines. Not for your main laptop though, I would say.

I personally find it very hard to do excel spreadsheets. I had to do the store scheduling on the little machines and it was very hard to see on the small screen. Word documents are fine, but the spreadsheets were really hard for me.

Okay good to know! He mostly needs it to type his papers in barnes and noble during his three hour wait in the city for his night classes... THe laptops we have are big, and expensive and he refuses to bring it so he hand writes and then re-types and I can tell its frustrating him :(

If it's just for typing then that's perfect. Easy to carry, small, and fine for typing Word documents.

I have an HP netbook and I love it. I basically use it for everything. It doesn't have a CD drive so I can't get CDs onto itunes on it, but other than that, it works great.

We have one. I think DH got it for free through his job. It's cute but it's a little uncomfortable to write long things on. Some of the buttons are in different places.

It does take getting used to to with the typing on the tiny keyboard, but once you have the hang of it, it's ok.
