Did they call you before? After? How long after? We had 5 no shows, two of which were once BM's..one dropped out, one was asked to not be in it, but we stayed VERY close, so Im shocked they just didnt show up, we spoke to both maybe 3 days before the wedding, they were coming..now we havent heard?
How did you/do you handle it?
I was planning on just letting it go and see if they ever call..I certaintly wont be the first to say anything.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We didn't have any (but our wedding was small to begin with).
I would just let it go if I were you, and wait for them to contact you. It's their responsibility to get in touch with you, since you expected them and they said they were coming. It's the polite thing to do.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We had a fwe no-shows....but 4 of them had a death in the family the day of the wedding, so they called and let our parents know in advance...and we totally understood! my aunt didn't show - but she and my uncle were having troubles at the time (and are now divorced) so he told me at the reception...and she sent a card apologizing for not being there.
I'd wait for them to contact you though

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
we had 3 no-shows:
1 was the wife of a guest and she got sick the morning of the wedding- the husband apologized to us when he saw us on our receiving line
1 was one of DH's distant cousins who called 10 days before the wedding to ask if she could bring 'the guy I just started dating'. When we told her it wasn't possible, she just kept asking. When I told her that I already did my seating- she asked again, when I said that I already made my final payment, she asked me to 'keep me in mind if you have any cancellations' She had her mother 'pretend' that she was there for her- signed the guest book, etc. But, she wasn't in any photos or video footage, and neither DH, my, nor my MIL saw her at all at the wedding- so we know she didn't attend
1 was DH's uncle's date. He asked if he could bring a guest (his deceased wife was my MIL's sister). We told him he could, but to understand that some people might feel weird about it. Of course, he didn't bring her- and never told us that she wasn't coming, so we paid for her to be there.

To me its the rudest thing to be a no-show.. we didn't have any and if we did I would NOT be happy!

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
Dh and I were a no show to a wedding today. We had every intention of going but then DH fell off the ladder today straight on his back. I feel horrible for being a no show! But we called and left a message apologizing nad I will put the card in the mail tomorrow. I think it's the person who is not showing ups OBLIGATION to inform you. But he, that's just me.

We had 2 groups that were no shows. However, we knew before hand that they wouldn't be able to attend and unfortunately, it was all due to some serious medical conditions.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We had 6 no shows (3 couples), two were health related, the other was a death in the family. One I knew about in enough time to cancel with the hall and not have to pay, the other 4 we had to eat the cost. If it matters, 2 of the 3 couples still sent a gift.

We didn't have any 'No shows' but we did have last minute cancellations. Two brothers and their dates had to cancel because their uncle died the day before the wedding. My cousin's wife called me a coupl of days beforee the wedding to tell m that my cousin couldn't take off from work. Um hello, the invitations had gone out months before. And we had one more who was an uncertain all along- health issues.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We didn't have any no shows at our wedding. If we did I would expect that someone have a good reason for not coming, like a death in the family or sickness.
If I were you I would call both those BM and tell them how hurt you are. Then I would let them know that your friendship is OVER. Personally I would do this for closure. I would be really hurt if someone I though was a close friend did this. Sorry

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
My relationship with the ones who didnt come, didnt call if definatly OVER..just checking to see if I'm 'right' so to speak. I wish I knew what happened.
I keep thinking my BM that dropped out who told a cousin her one son had a fever, well she lives in the same house as her in laws and her hhusband obviously...she was raised as my 'sister' and she could have called, or shown up to the church which was in the same town she lives and told me there. Some of our vendors were family and knew our hall on an immediate basis, we may have been able to get some back due to this, and they all KNEW this, yet no call even the day of..means we lost a lot of money IMO. I'm not even mad, just sad about this.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We had three..
One wife of my DH dad's friend is sick, and she was not feeling up for it. He came to the CH and left.
The Other one.. was my DH's cousin whose wedding party DH was in. They never RSVP and then had to be called and he stated him and his wife would be there....then two days before they call with some BS story about her having to work on a Friday night and he could not get a babysitter....okay she is a BANK TELLER!!!! They close at 1 on Fridays. We have not spoken to them since. And they were known to do stuff like this...
It amazes me how rude some people are in life...

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We had one who showed at the church, but then didn't come to the reception. She is the sole caretaker for her mom, however, and rarely has the opportunity to get out, so we think maybe something happened and she had to get home. She mailed us a gift later on, and it was sort of a card in a card, so I think she had planned on being at the reception, but judt didn't make it for whatever reason. We would have had to pay either way, since we just made our minimum. We were actually happy that she came to the church so we just let it go.....
