Did they call you before? After? How long after? We had 5 no shows, two of which were once BM's..one dropped out, one was asked to not be in it, but we stayed VERY close, so Im shocked they just didnt show up, we spoke to both maybe 3 days before the wedding, they were coming..now we havent heard?
How did you/do you handle it?
I was planning on just letting it go and see if they ever call..I certaintly wont be the first to say anything.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
we had about eight no shows, so rude!! people said they were coming and then didn't come, we had one whole table with only four people b/c of all the no shows. Some of them never called and gave no gift. one couple called two days after teh wedding, when they knew we were on our honymoon to say they couldn't make it and kept promising they had a gift for us, we still hang out with them and haven't seen this card and it's been a year. some people just have no manners

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
Ok, the no show situation is one the really makes me angry! I had 4 or 5 as well. One was a cousin who called me that morning and asked if she could bring a guest, I said no because everything was paid for already....so she just didnt show up! 2 were a couple that is friends with my MIL. They called after the wedding and sent a gift, but the excuse was total BS! Another was a date of one of dh's friends who opted not to come last minute. And, I paid for my 2 ring bearers to stay and eat, but their parents sent them off to a sitter after the cocktail hour! So, I spent about 1,000 on people who didnt have dinner! It makes me mad because DH and I worked so hard to pay for EVERYTHING ourselves! But, the night was still amazing. I didnt even think about it until after the wedding. However, it is still rude and unacceptable!

OMG!!! 40 no shows - I would be beside myself. I would have come and partied with you if I knew that - your wedding looked like a lot of fun!

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We had 3 I think. One was my moms co-worker who fell into a coma 2 days before the wedding but my mom didnt tell me b/c she didnt want to upset me the other 2 were my moms 'friend' and her husband. They never called or anything just didnt show up. AND we had one couple who came and left after an hour b/c the sitter called saying their 3 year old had a high temp and didnt know what to do... I totally understand but of COURSE all these people were seated at the SAME table!!!! Leaving one whole table with like 4 people at it!

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We still havent heard a word from any of our no shows, so I'm guessing our friendship is over, because now in my opinion, its not about not showing, its about respect, that you missed the most important day in my life and havent apologized or asked how it was. Makes me sad, but GLAD to know how this people truly are, my energy is better spent on the people who DO care!

I had 10 no shows without an excuse however, some did send me a gift in the mail. But for the ones that didn't attend I refuse to talk to them. I think that is very rude two of my co workers didn't show and had the nerve to ask me about my wedding. Over all people had a good time and I didn't even notice.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
Omg... there will forever be drama in my family over the no-shows at my wedding! We had alot... I don't even want to count right now because I will get upset.
Anyway, my dad's side of the family is famous for this kind of crap. One of our no-shows called the day before and said her DH wouldn't be able to make it because of some family emergency -- that's fine.
BUT, I invited this one BMs boyfriend who I HATE and he RSVP'd yes and never showed up. I was kind of glad in one way, b/c I can't stand him, but at the same time I was piss-d that he didn't show. I've never said anything to the BM about it because I rather him think I didn't even notice.
As far as the people on my Dad's side... boy they heard it from me. Some of them I will never let them live it down. When I say no-show, I mean NO SHOW - no phone call, no explanation, no flimsy excuse, NOTHING... they just didn't show up.
So... about a month later a cousin on my Dad's side got married. I RSVP'd yes with my DH and guess what -- we didn't show up. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat (to any of them). Yep. I'm evil.

Ah... family may very well give you a gift later. We had over 1/2 my DH's siblings give us nothing at the wedding...no card... but at the holidays they all gave us very generous gifts.

Re: No Shows at Wedding...
We had five. We didn't know about any of them. They were ALL on my husband's side.
There was only 1 legitimate case. They rest never even mentioned it.
